Who will get the spoon?
OK.... there is a thread on who will win. And all the Sydney critics tip the RAIDERS to win the spoon....
So who do we really think? No particular order implied ....

I think we will be competing with sharks and westies to make the 8. I'm keen to see westies play as they showed massive improvement through 2004, over previous years. I just can't go past souths for the spoon, they are such an awful team. I reckon we could replace their backline with everyone on this forum and still do better.

i'd love to be different and not pick Souths - but they are an ordinary football side. Shaun McRae will be great, i think, but i don't think at this stage that he'll be enough to lift them off the bottom. Wests Tigers will also struggle - they've lost some key players and still lack a good long kicking game. the Warriors IMO will be near the bottom, too. completely undisciplined, although they are very talented, and they'll win the odd great game. i think Manly will be most improved, with Witt and Monaghan in the halves, and a couple of very strong additions to their forwards in BK and Kite.
i don't understand the scepticism regarding the Sharks. with Kimmorley at the helm, Sullivan, plus a bunch of other very decent players, they should go well - pushing for a top 8 spot. i am worried about the depth in their backline, though.

I believe it will be the Bunnies, a new coach isn't going to turn them around in one season - though I have seen mirricals happen!
He failed at St Helens and got the axe and It took him a good few seasons to get some good talent coming through at Hull.

Can't go past the Bunnies in 05!!!! Although they did play with a bit more heart than the Raiders at times in 2004.
