17th min PENALTY BLUES on the try line, after a six again call.

TRY BLUES to Cody Walker, but there's an obstruction. The referee says it is a try and the bunker clears it. Conversion from Nathan Cleary.

Higher intensity game than last week. Even Queensland are playing better and Blues much better.

23rd min TRY BLUES to James Tedesco. The Blues are attacking the Maroons left edge, Tedesco gets back on the inside of Hunt. Cleary converts. The Blues have had all the momentum the last 10 minutes or so.

25th min Head clash between Frizell and Addo-Carr, while defending, that's nasty. HIA for Frizell.

29th min PENALTY BLUES for obstruction, Maroons in possession on their own 10m line. Blues die with the ball 5m out... but now the Maroons lose the ball on their own 10m line. Throwing possession away in their own 20 zone.

37th min Coates can't take the bomb to the corner. Another chance for the Blues in the red zone.

TRY BLUES to Josh Addo-Carr off the scrum win. It had to come. The Blues have had all the ball and territory since the 20 minute mark. Four attackers on three. Simple. Cleary converts.

Blues 18-4

Lui probably outshone Papa and Jack.

NSW are not giving Wighton any quality ball at all.

Great defence under sustained pressure Queensland. Possession will swing. 14 points isn't much. Bit of a worry.

Jacky might as well have pockets sowed into his shorts, it gets as far as chrichton then never goes further, jthe only time jack sees the ball is if he goes looking for it and its usually a bad ball

Costly try before halftime. NSW really needed to convert the amount of possession they had into points.

Less errors for the blues this week and a few from the maroons. Munster is a big loss.

Tyson Frizell has passed his HIA, has had a couple of stitches to his head.

New South Wales have had 56 per cent possession and 73 per cent of the territory in the first half. The Blues have completed at 96 per cent, 23/24 sets. The Maroons 78 per cent, 14 of 18 sets.

NSW playing like QLD did in the 2nd half last week. Simple, effective game plan. Can they sustain the discipline like they didn't do last week?

43rd min TRY BLUES to Jack Wighton! The Maroons have started just as they finished the first half. The Blues run on the last and they get the try. That is pretty much the game won now for the Blues. Probably a 20 point lead, too big to come back from in Origin. It is a 20 point lead with the Cleary conversion.

46th min Sami produces possibly the silliest play in State of Origin history. Cleans up the ball in the corner, stands and is taken out. Fortunately for Sami, Paulo knocks on, post haste.
