But I would say it’s better to warm up with two frauds first and try ride that momentum through the prelims/GF instead of having to start the hard yakka week 2 against either the defending premiers or minor premiers.SubLime Green wrote: ↑September 25, 2020, 8:55 pmIt would most likely put the Roosters on the other side of the draw to us though (assuming they beat the Panthers). I still think the Roosters are the biggest danger in the finals, so avoiding them until the GF is useful.Mickey_Raider wrote: ↑September 25, 2020, 8:39 pmWhat have Newcastle got to do with anything?
If Souths go on to win this as they look like doing this is not a good result for us. It means we don’t get to play Eels week 2, and would instead have to play roosters or panthers week 2.
Definitely sets us up on the wrong side of the draw.

Oh, I agree. The Sharks, Eels run would be ideal from 5th. I guess I'm just saying there is at least one positive to this result.

This would have been 72-8 if not for 3 disallowed tries.
Bizarre.
And roosters are out of the running for a 3-peat if history is anything to go by.

While I’m a bit concerned this might change the finals draw, this is still hilarious viewing!

Once it was evident roosters weren’t making a comeback there I thoroughly enjoyed that.

So they are reporting Peachey was racially abused last night. Ref has asked him to tell him who said it so he can deal with it, but Peachey hasn’t, so nothing happened as yet.
I wish the culture of the NRL would change to strongly back players complaining of serious offences. I’m sick of this “no dobbers” culture that sees players unwilling to make formal complaints. It’s a real shame that the perpetrator was not swiftly and appropriately punished.

Re: 2020 NRL Round 20: Teams and Game Day
I've seen the footage leading up to the reported slur. Peachey was trying to play the ball and the Knights player who effected the tackle and then stood at marker was all over Peach.gangrenous wrote: ↑September 26, 2020, 7:48 am So they are reporting Peachey was racially abused last night. There was then a scenario that I would call "handbags at 10 paces"
The Knights player involved was Mitch Barnett. I cannot confirm MB call something horrible but the footage clearly shows Barnett being the closest to Peachey at the time so one can only presume.

I hope the NRL don’t just turn a blind eye to this. They should follow up make sure the person responsible serves a lengthy suspension.

So for Raiders to make it to the 3rd round of the finals we either need
Tigers to beat eels today
Roosters to lose 3 games in a row
Panthers to exit finals in straight sets

I know, We're included in those games where panthers would have to exit in straight sets or roosters have to lose 3 in a row

Panthers up 10-0 over Dogs. They're really phoning this one in and Dogs still struggling to match them.

It’s worked in our favour there. But that part of the captains challenge is stupid. Saying you can’t challenge a forward pass, when they are actually challenging that there should be a ruling prior. That should be allowed at a stoppage.
