20th min Newcastle Knights lead 6-0, after Kurt Mann scored in the ninth minute. Isaako sent to the sin bin for a professional foul in the 20th minute. A sin bin for that offence is simply ridiculous.

Was ok with the penalty, but not 10 in the bin.

22nd min TRY KNIGHTS to Hymel Hunt, Kurt Mann kick to the corner pays off against 12 men. Ponga converts from out wide.

Newcastle Knights 12
Brisbane Broncos 0

at Central Coast Stadium.

Bad call IMO. Ponga totally milked that. You can't place the ball on the ground before rising to your feet, which is what Ponga was trying to do. But **** the Broncos

30th min TRY BRONCOS to Xavier Coates. Intercept on the try line and he goes 100 metres to score. Should have checked the off side, but they award it straight away. Converted. The replay is inconclusive, but Coates was in a dubious position on the field.

Newcastle Knights 12-6

Didn’t it used to be a penalty when you put the ball on the ground before you get up?

Yes, you have to stand before you play it. Star player unrecognised bias at clear work.

44th min TRY KNIGHTS to Daniel Saifiti, he stands in the tackle and four Broncos can't stop him from swiveling and planting the ball. Poor defence. Ponga converts.

Knights 19-6

You can if you're the Storm or Roosters. ;) Hands on the ball actually happens just about every tackle from them, but every team does it. They only look again when it is on video.

59th min Patrick Carrigan sin binned for a late tackle... and now they're going for penalty goal... which is sort of crazy.

PENALTY GOAL KNIGHTS to Kalyn Ponga.

Knights 21-6

Broncos are the most consistent team... when it comes to dog shots.

Embarrassing, egotistical club.

Bloody great call by the ref. Sick of seeing the opposition the following week benefiting from dog shots like that. Should cop his 10 minutes and whatever is decided on top of that.

MATCH REPORT: Knights show class to thump struggling Broncos

Brisbane's form woes have continued with the Newcastle Knights starting strongly and rolling on to a comfortable 27-6 victory at Central Coast Stadium on Thursday night.

Newcastle five-eighth Kurt Mann made a dream start to the match, first running off a slick Mitchell Pearce pass to open the scoring before sending in a pinpoint kick for winger Hymel Hunt to score the second.

I’m actually sad they are playing in saturday next week - I’m loving the positive vibes that a Ponies loss creates for the weekend.

Starts it off just right.

They have a pretty soft draw the next five weeks, so will probably go to flat track bully mode. They currently look the least fit team in the comp.

I remember it and i still believe the guy is talented enough to be the best forward in the world. I also said repeatedly that it was a gamble and one i might lose, so its not as if i didnt acknowledge the risks.

Ill die on the hill that TPJ is to damn talented to be playing like this and if Bateman leaves, i'd gamble on him in a heartbeat... maybe not for a million bucks now, his market is cratering. But im not backing away from my belief in TPJ as a talent.

I've said it before and ill continue to say it, i'll always bet on talent and the ceiling of a player.

FYI, you didnt shower yourself in glory on that matter either, friend ;)

Imagine if you could transplant Luke Bateman's attitude into TPJs body. Sounds like something Huawei should be on.

I stated last year that the #penaltyBroncos meme should actually be #penaltyBennett.

I stand by that.

Surely that swinging arm was reportable and video ref could have brought it to the referees attention, particularly in the timethat Fusitua was receiving treatment. Should really have been a sinbin.

Adam Blair, I’m calling him out for that tackle. I was watching very closely, poor technique that’s always going to cause injury.

Looks like maybe medial ligament issue
