Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
When is Team List Tuesday?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Imagine being John Bateman and having to look at that Titan's team list as a possibility for next year. They'd have to be hitting that 800k.

Rugby league is back! The Parramatta Eels run out onto Lang Park, and now the Broncos follow. Before the game starts, a moment's silence for the late Arthur Summons. The Broncos kick off... we are underway!

3rd min We've seen our first six again call for a ruck infringement. Nothing in it. Eels the beneficiary.
TRY EELS to lock Marata Niukore. It was an easy try, soft. The referee called no try, saying it was lost over the line. The video referee correctly ruled try. Moses converts. Brisbane are very flat.
Eels 6-0

6th min Broncos forced into a line drop out now. The Eels are on fire and the Broncos don't look like they want to be there.

Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
18th min TRY BRONCOS to Brodie Croft. He makes a break from 40 metres out and no one can stop him. The Broncos have worked their way back into the match. It's very fast and the six again calls have probably helped in that. Converted Isaako from out wide.
Eels 6
Broncos 6
The Fox League coverage has "virtual crowd" noise... and they have brought back the "try scoring music" for replays!

If you remember Parramatta in the first round came out like a house on fire against Canterbury but soon fizzled out

28th min TRY EELS to Sivo in the corner. He was suspended almost entirely over the sideline and he grounds it. Mitch Moses converts from the sideline. The try was scored off the back of a forced line drop out.

Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
Jennings got very old in 2018. Came back strong in 2019 and he is still one of the best centres in the comp.
Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
If this is how the game is going to look a guy like Bateman is a pretty important player. Mobile, fit and fast.
But let's see how they referee the Storm. They've always gotten away with more than any other side.

33rd min Gutherson throws a forward pass to Sivo, would have been a certain try otherwise, with a huge overlap.

Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
So if you want to give away a penalty to slow the game down you just strip the ball instead. Simples. Refs better have the guts to sin bin intentional penalties.
Oh that was glorious Broncos botching a try!

Was annoying earlier when the commentators sooked over a clear cut obstruction.

Don't like the fake crowd noise on Fox. Getting annoying

44th min TRY EELS to Clint Gutherson, but no conversion from Moses... relatively easy try.

**** call from Kasey Badger, that wasn’t forward at all.
Re: 2020 NRL Round 3: Teams and Game Day
It was worse in Round 2 with dead silence I thought. One way or other is the price of having footy back, worth paying.Northern Raider wrote: ↑May 28, 2020, 8:53 pm Don't like the fake crowd noise on Fox. Getting annoying

63rd min TRY EELS to Michael Jennings under the posts. The video referee confirms there is no obstruction. The Broncos have had no field position, but the only time the Broncos get into the Eels' half, it goes 100 metres to the other end. Moses converts.

I reckon its a great addition! Just needs a bit of fine tuning to match the feeling of the game.Northern Raider wrote: ↑May 28, 2020, 8:53 pm Don't like the fake crowd noise on Fox. Getting annoying

67th min TRY EELS to Shaun Lane, crashes over and the video referee confirms it is grounded, no problem. Converted Moses.

78th min TRY EELS to Waqa Blake. Nice passing. The Broncos have been completely dominated in the second half. Mitchell Moses sways back and forth, mutters, kicks the conversion.

That was a spanking..
Shows home ground advantage isn't really a factor without a crowd

Broncos pretty awful tonight. Eels not getting much opposition so far this year.
