Needs more fullbacks
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

They're going to miss Matt Prior quite a bit I think. The forward pack and bench doesn't look at deep without him and Gallen. That's a bit of grunt.

Not sure what the go is with Dugan. Seems to be a highly paid player, playing out of position. Very odd. They need to offload either him or Moylan if the coach is intent on playing Townsend at halfback.

They have a pretty good 1-13, however they lack depth.

Fifita is pretty shot from what I've heard. Be surprised to see him start. Maybe Braden Hamlen-Uele gets the nod.

Toby Rudolf probably deserves a spot in that 17. Was super strong for the Jets last year coming off an injury.

Cronulla Sharks 2020

Post by greeneyed »

The Sunday Telegraph is reporting Josh Dugan could be playing NSW Cup to start 2020... on an $800,000 per annum salary. The Sharks were hoping he would accept a deal offered by the Catalan Dragons, but it was well below his current deal. The Sharks want to free his $1.6 million deal from their cap. They have Sione Katoa, William Kennedy, Rinaldo Mulitalo for wing and Moylan will play fullback.

Dig your heels in doogs.
Can't imagine anyone picking him up at this stage... Maybe if the sharks put in half.

Cronulla Sharks call crisis meeting as teammates lose faith in disgruntled Josh Dugan

There is a major showdown looming at the Cronulla Sharks in the next 24 hours over the playing future of $900,000-a-season outside back Josh Dugan. One of Cronulla’s highest-paid players, Dugan’s efforts over the course of the summer have been less than impressive on the training field.

His knees aren’t shot, they’re a rehab provider’s dream. He just needs a little TLC

I would be surprised if they’re the only club doing it to be honest. We got done with Orford in a similar way.

Sharks are probably filthy that Weidler let the knees out of the bag

Josh Dugan wanted to medically retire with a knee injury... the Cronulla Sharks weren’t convinced the NRL would approve

Josh Dugan’s camp sensationally floated the idea of medical retirement due to a knee complaint, but was told by Cronulla’s medical experts that it stood little chance of being passed by the NRL.

Putting aside the whole Dugan is a douche and he deserves it thing, why can't they medically retire him? It's no more shonky that Surgess' medical retirement.

It is a new kind of circus isn’t it? A guys asking his club to be medically retired, and them coming back with “Nah, we think you’re good. Let’s try and offload you.”

They should trade him to Souths, and have them retire him

Even his medical retirement injury is a put on :roflmao

At least Souffs had some sort of case with Sam's operation and subsequent infection.

I'm also pleasantly surprised at the ethics of their medico's who gave it the big, "Nope, nothing even wrong with you mate. Check your heartstring."

Josh Dugan claims he suffered chronic damage from secret fracture amid Sharks standoff

The Cronulla Sharks intend to ask if Josh Dugan wants to genuinely continue playing rugby league as the club attempts to resolve the $900,000-a-season star’s future.

The Dugan showdown with the Sharks was due to begin at 10am on Thursday but the fatal car accident near Sydney Airport meant its start time was slightly delayed as traffic chaos ensued. While Dugan’s agent Paul Sutton and Sharks football manager Phil Moss were delayed, Dugan showed up at Sharks headquarters at 7am for training with the rest of the NRL squad.

He was such a dud signing, he's been busted for years and that heartstring issue has plagued him his entire career.

Josh Dugan never deserved an Australian jumper on form or on mentality.

What a waste of Junior talent he became. Surely one of the most narcissistic players to pull on a Raiders jumper. Seemed to only ever play the game for himself not his teammates.

Yep. Not just bitter Raiders fans thinking that way either, every mate I've got (ok, that's 2) who follows footy has noticed the same about him.
