It looks a fairly decent turn out so credit to the crowd who have paid money to watch this

What absolute **** of a game. One of these teams is playing for a spot in the finals?

Joke isn't it. There's such a division with the top teams and bottom teams this year. Only a team in the Top 5 can win it, the rest are putrid

Unbelievable how many favours Broncos get from refs

Annesley could use this game for his weekly segment and spend half an hour reviewing contentious decisions. Some strange decisions.

They just showed McGuire possibly gouging Fifita, but I think he also did one on Lodge. The MRC have to look at this game closely. TPJ and Lodge were after McGuire a few times tonight, maybe they were reacting to the grubs tactics?

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Josh McGuire is an embarrassing individual. I hope they ban him this time.

It must be a condition of signing with the Broncos that you either have a pre-existing chip on your shoulder or you develop one very quickly.

I couldn’t see a gouge. But he deliberately went out of his way to give an old fashioned facial. What’s wrong with the bloke? Surely in 2019, deliberately contacting a player’s face in this way is a no go zone.

Post by Sid »

Sounds like it was a bludger of a game.

Also here are Darius Boyd’s stats

80 minutes
1 run for 1m
19 tackles, 2 missed
1 kick, 14m

Literally no other stats (0 LBA’s, 0 offloads etc.)

Would have won Boogs - 2016, 2017, 2018

He keeps getting away with it, so what's to deter him from doing it again and again?

Some people just can’t help themselves, but the NRL has done no favours in sorting it out by letting him off lightly for his other 2 eye gouges this season.

It’s not like he’s a hot headed young rookie either, like Nathan Brown (Eels) was when he first came onto the scene.

McGuire has had a long time to put this **** away, and it’s only gotten worse this season.

Tim’s right in that if you could still throw a punch, maybe he’d have been sorted out. Like Gallen did to stop Nate Myles.

But in today’s world, it’s not acceptable for other good reasons.

All on the NRL to sort out and they’re proven incapable time and time again.

Anyway... how good are the Raiders going!

At least McGuire’s looking at 4 weeks this time, this should have been his first suspension.

Exactly..he has to do it 3 times before he gets suspended, and at a time when the season is already over

A fourth place finish for Manly isn't too bad - that would send them down to Melbourne.

I think Souths could slip out to 5th, they have a tough draw.

There has always been a massive Manly fanbase in Auckland - stems back from the early 90s when Manly took a number of games over there; and the Ridge connection.
