69th min TRY FIJI to hooker Joe Lovodua. Looked like he was wrapped up at dummy half, close to the line, but he shrugs off the tackler and makes a short run to score. Wakeham converts. Wakeham looks to be a good young player.

Next up at Leichhardt we have Samoa V Papau New Guinea. We have a number of former Raiders in both teams, with Junior Paulo, Anthony Milford and Michael Chee Kam playing for Samoa and Luke Page and Kurt Baptiste playing for Papua New Guinea. Kick off is at 7:55pm.

Teams are on the field, it's a poor crowd compared to previous seasons at Campbelltown. No doubt Tonga brings in a lot of fans, but you have to wonder if Leichhardt is the best ground for the Pacific Nation communities in Sydney. Now the national anthems and cultural ceremonies.

I went to Campbelltown Stadium for the first time this year for NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg. It is a pretty poor quality stadium, no doubt.

PNG probably should have played Lebanon, but you have to mix it up too.

5th min TRY SAMOA to Jarome Luai, great stepping and it gets him through the PNG defensive line, easily. Jamayne Isaako converts from virtually in front.

The Kumuls playing very good footy... unlucky they're not level. Baptiste has been in the sheds for an HIA, now again for a knee injury, went with not a player touching him.

66th min TRY SAMOA to Junior Paulo. He just bullocks his way to the try line. It is sad for the Kumuls as they've been courageous. Isaako converts from almost in front of the posts.

Was it against the Samoan's for striking at the ball?

76th min TRY SAMOA to Chanel Harris Tavita. He attempts a field goal, glances the post, falls into the in goal and he follows the ball and grounds it! The Samoan crowd finally singing, as it has been a very tough and close game. The Kumuls have been right in this for most of the match. Isaako converts.

Samoa 24-6

That is a pretty disappointing crowd, given the number of people at the Women's Origin last night and the numbers at the same fixture in previous years. The venue clearly was an issue, it needed to be further west. Western Sydney Stadium should have seen an opportunity and staged the event... at much cheaper than their usual prices.

I think Campbelltown or Penrith would be better venues. Huge islander populations in those areas, and I doubt they'd drop the prices at Bankwest becasue it probably costs more to open the stadium there than it does one of the suburban grounds.
