No comparison to 89 GF. Except if you compare the Gary Jack knock on to the Wighton intercept?greeneyed wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 10:40 pm Like the Raiders in the 1989 Grand Final, Queensland were the better team in the first half, yet they trailed 8-0. Yes, yes they did.
YES! Change the halves again!Northern Raider wrote:Halves were garbage but I'd keep Walker and put A-Rey in there. Go for the club combo. Cleary was pretty average last year and even worse this one. Diversionary tactics out in full force! Why can't the Blues fans just admit that Queensland outplayed New South Wales, yet again, despite being favourites, yet again? Why can't they just join in the chant? Follow a winning team?
Fair play. QLD dominated that second half and deserved the victory. The Rickman wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 10:18 pmIt’s posts like these that make Origin all the sweeter. The Rickman wrote:Oh man, this game just got all the more sweeter.
God I hope the NSW team thinks the same way as you do.
That scoreline absolutely flattered NSW, if we passed to Gagai more we would’ve won that game by 30.
Can’t wait to see NSW completely change their whole team again

No one here ever advocated for Cleary, even though he was half when NSW won last year. Just shows we won in spite of him. So nothing amazing about these comments, was recognised long ago.The Rickman wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 10:47 pmYES! If DCE played in all three games last year, Queensland wins the series. The Queensland selectors did a NSW there and completely **** up.

It was a comparable situation after the first half. One team clearly the better in the first half, but behind on the scoreboard. No doubt the coach telling his team that they were better and could fight back in the second half.I'm Bate Man wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 11:12 pmCompare the pair, screw your head back on GE.greeneyed wrote:How dare I what?I'm Bate Man wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 11:09 pmgreeneyed wrote:Like the Raiders in the 1989 Grand Final, Queensland were the better team in the first half, yet they trailed 8-0. Ouch, Cotric deserved at least an 7 or even an 8. Can't argue with Jack's score, considering he was an impact player. Can we have a rating for Fitler as coach though? Surely a 4 or 5? When sections of teams were failing he did nothinf, until too late.greeneyed wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 11:18 pm Origin player ratings
10: Josh Papalii: Effort was never lacking. Didn't match the running metres of Blues prop Klemmer but did enough to set a platform for the skilled players in his side. 7

2. Nick Cotric: Did nothing wrong in first half but came in too far and opened up space for Corey Oates to score the Maroons first try. Limited opportunities in attack and looked to pick up a leg injury in the second term. 6
14. Jack Wighton: Sent into the game by Brad Fittler with 25 minutes to go and had a kick charged down and threw an intercept pass which Dane Gagai swooped on to score. 4.5

When was the last winger to get MotM? No doubt Wighton will be the scapegoat.... he will be dropped for ultimately costing NSW the game with that intercept pass. It was such a raiders play.... 2 on 1 overlap and he manages to **** it up.
Sorry, that's a rhetorical question in case you were wondering.
They did not seriously give Nathan Cleary 7/10. That’s not possible. Am I taking crazy pills or something?greeneyed wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 11:18 pm Origin player ratings

If Keary is fit I think he will replace Walker at 5/8. He offers far more in terms of organisation imo both attack and defence. People will say, but for Jack's intercept the scores were even. I thought Qld were better at executing their game plan and attacked on the edges. I think NSW can offer much more in attack with Keary in the side. There seemed to be little communication between Walker and Mitchell in the defensive line. That is not apparent when Keary is beside Mitchell at the Chooks. Credit to the Queenslanders for taking the opening match. It is now up to the Blues to show the cattle dog spirit in Game 2.The Rickman wrote: ↑June 5, 2019, 10:47 pmYES!
