Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
During the off season I'm sure someone here was telling me we wouldn't be able to sign Matt Eisenhuth because the tigers wouldn't let go of their "best forward". Would have been a great pick up with an offer of a first grade spot.
Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
We're already shifting Papalii out of the back row to accommodate Bateman. How could we have promised him a first grade spot?zim wrote:During the off season I'm sure someone here was telling me we wouldn't be able to sign Matt Eisenhuth because the tigers wouldn't let go of their "best forward". Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
By dropping someone off the bench. You really don't think there's room to move with our side for a 110 kg, 197cm prop heading into his prime that averages over 110m per game and is a solid defender?gergreg wrote: ↑March 12, 2019, 4:39 pmWe're already shifting Papalii out of the back row to accommodate Bateman. Isn't Eisenhuth a backrower?

Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
He plays the exact same role as their props and is a bigger body than nearly all the forwards in their starting 17.
He has spent time starting in the front row and coming off the bench to play at prop.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
My mistake I thought he was a backrower. I do agree he had quite a good year last year.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
It's really just a question of your views on locks. He has played a lot of lock but it's nothing I'd call a classical back row style lock. He's as much a lock as Lolo or Horsburgh.
Not a Radley or Bateman.

Matt Lodge is the kind of dunderhead who would drop a grand final winning try, simply because he’s an idiot.

13th min TRY STORM to Curtis Scott. Great Vunivalu tackle forces a Greg Bird error and Scott runs 60 metres to score. Exciting try. Smith converts from out wide.

16th min Great kick from Munster, Addo Carr correctly ruled to have contacted Isaako illegally on the try line. Would have been a try to the Storm otherwise. Penalty Broncos. But they can't take advantage, ball lost in their own half.

18th min Kaufusi loses the ball over the try line... absolute certain try bombed for the Storm. He caught the ball after chasing the kick, but he then dropped it in the grounding. The Storm are absolutely dominant.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
The Storm are really unlucky not to be further than 10 points in front at this point, with just over 10 to go in the half.
Re: 2019 NRL Round 1 - Teams and Game Day
The Broncos are really sending a lot of play at the Storm's left edge, but Melbourne are holding them without much trouble. Melbourne's kicking game is fantastic, putting the Broncos back to their goal line every single set.
