The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
I am too. Didn't really follow the Knights V Sharks closely, given Mounties were playing. But there have been a couple of very high quality games the past two nights. The Raiders looked pretty clunky in trials in comparison.

Horrible game , even for wet weather. Zero attack from both teams.
2 chances manly had , 1 ref took Thompson out and then Elliott hogged the ball. Bombed it.
Don't think Tigers have had a chance. Farah has too much control of their team. He isn't the man who should be.
66th min TRY TIGERS to Robbie Farah, he get a double through simple hard running from dummy half. Poor defence from the Sea Eagles. Esan Marsters converts.
80th min TRY SEA EAGLES to Jorge Taufua. Looked to have been at least one forward pass in the lead up. No convertion from Cherry Evans.
Wests Tigers 20
Manly Sea Eagles 6

Farah on the double as Tigers down Sea Eagles
Robbie Farah turned back the clock with a vintage display as the Michael Maguire era at Wests Tigers got off to a bright start under gloomy skies at Leichhardt Oval with a 20-6 win.
12th min TRY DRAGONS to Euan Aitken. They run 80 metres in the set after the Cowboys make an error. Corey Norman made the initial break. Gareth Widdop converts.
Dragons 6-0
The Cowboys incessantly playing music while the football is on... would drive anyone nuts!

32nd min TRY COWBOYS to winger Javid Bowen in the corner. He thought he hadn't grounded it, but the video referee cleared it... and he just scores before going over the sideline. Kahu can't convert.
39th min TRY COWBOYS to Nene Macdonald in the corner. No problems with obstruction or the grounding. Video referee confirms it. Kahu misses the conversion from the sideline.
67th min TRY COWBOYS to Te Maire Martin, set up by a great run from Jason Taumololo. Jordan Kahu converts. There is rain pouring down so that should just about sew it up for the Cowboys.
76th min TRY COWBOYS to Justin O'Neill, following the Morgan grubber. Kahu converts.
Cowboys 24-6
80th min TRY DRAGONS to Jordan Pereira in the corner, a consolation try. Widdop converts from the sideline.
North Queensland Cowboys 24
St George Illawarra Dragons 12

Taumalolo show guides Cowboys past Dragons
The experience of Michael Morgan and Matt Scott and the rampaging runs of Jason Taumalolo proved the difference as the Cowboys opened their 2019 campaign with a 24-10 win over the Dragons in Townsville.

And maybe you and everybody else (and I mean everybody) could just join in. I've spent far too much of my Saturday night refereeing abusive comments directed at other posters. I'm just so over it. I've spent the best part of my day updating scores, promoting the Raiders and rugby league and all I get are people having fights over ridiculous things. I'm starting to think another poster was right after all.
