The Nickman wrote: February 12, 2019, 10:51 am I have to say I love this concept MUCH more than the original All-Stars format. I dunno, I just never could get behind the All-Stars team, and feel like Indigenous vs Maoris makes so much more sense.

Also interesting to see Garvey make the Indigenous team. Can't wait to see him have a breakout year this year, rub it in all our faces.
With Hodgson at the helm I don’t see how anything Garvey does could possibly be rubbing it in our face.
Wot? I think there's a pretty big dubby going on here, Julez.
Haha yep. There was just a smidge of sarcasm in Nickman's post.

Cody Walker named captain of Indigenous All Stars

Nine years ago Cody Walker bought an Indigenous All Stars jersey for his partner. He wanted to show how proud he was of his Aboriginal heritage. On Friday night at AAMI Park, he leads the Indigenous team onto the field as captain. The 29-year-old All Stars debutant was named captain of the team by coach Laurie Daley in front of the playing group on Wednesday night.

Maoris go over in the corner afte 3 mins. Latrell Mitchell seemed in some discomfort after making a tackle there.

Indigenous boys hit back with a try in the corner. Ado-Carr scores setup by Tyrone Roberts.

I'd be happy to see Tapine get no minutes, collect his tracksuit and head home to Canberra healthy.

Ado-Carr gets a double. Simple backline move through the hands, Gagai not pushing out enough despite tge cover coming across.

10 - 6 to the indigenous side. Tapine on for the last few minutes. He looks fit.

No real standouts tonight so far but Fifita shows why he's arguably the best prop in the game.

Maoris in now off a Ponga pass. Commentators dribbling over Ponga despite the defence being awful. No matter who he passed to would have scored.

I think the knights are making a mistake moving him to 6 this year.

Tapine looks to score but called short. Surely some part of the ball touched the line but there doesn't appear to be any decent cameras.

Sitting at St Marys Leagues Ironbark Bar watching the second half of this game. Lots of cheering whenever the Indigenous team scores, good to see a lot of interest and passion in the game and the result.

Krystal Rota puts personal anguish aside to inspire New Zealand Maori Ferns to 8-4 victory over Indigenous All Stars

With her sick daughter in hospital and the name of her recently deceased cousin written on her wrist, Krystal Rota was unable to hold back the tears after scoring a late try to clinch an 8-4 win for New Zealand Maori in the historic women’s All Stars match at AAMI Stadium.

Addo-Carr stars as Indigenous All Stars beat Maori All Stars

Two tries for home-town hero Josh Addo-Carr and a gravity-defying try celebration by Blake Ferguson highlighted the Indigenous All Stars' 34-14 defeat of the Maori All Stars in Friday night's Harvey Norman All Stars clash at AAMI Park.

Not all that much game time for Tapine. But he did have a few great effort plays on defence which was good to see from him.

I thought he played most of the second half. He never let's anybody down. Such a likeable player.
Fifita the difference between the sides IMO.

Everything taps did was quality but his time was limited.
Was interested to see how Ponga went. He's got a lot of work ahead of him but when he gets some time he's got some really crisp passing.

Just watched the news and saw that the Indigenous All Stars refused to sing the National Anthem at the start of the game.

I only saw part of the 2nd half due to watching the Raiders trial match. Some great footy skills on display.
