That's not a bad side, but will be interesting to see what sort of destabilising influence that Jack DeBelin and the new addition of Norman has on the side. Unless Widdop has asked to be moved I don't understand why he would move out of the halves?

Why is Dufty not named? Has he actually signed with another club? Maybe I missed it?

Dufty hasn't signed elsewhere, but it's clear he's not in their plans for the top 17 this year.

I’m a big fan of Zac Lomax and can see him forcing his way into the centres.

They are very overrated but should make the 8 pretty comfortably.

Thanks GE. Maybe he is leaving the club but just not finalised a deal yet, because he is definitely good enough for the 17, and extra players named in the list.

I don't know about overrated. I think they are clearly the best as far as pre season training goes, as they clearly start the season the best, for a few years now. The addition of Crawley has to help out McGregor.

They keep denying they'll be releasing him, but I wonder if a good offer comes along...

My main issue is the number of rep players they end up with. Fair enough they started 2 seasons well but we have heard players need to show up in the big games to earn rep jumpers. They came up with an all time choke in 2017 and have 5 origin players a year later.

I also reckon the first 6 weeks is pretty random and you get clubs going on runs well above their ability.

Not according to the NRL Integrity Unit

Jack De Belin pleads not guilty to sexual assault charge

Dragons and NSW Origin star Jack de Belin has successfully applied for bail variations that allow him to continue playing rugby league after entering a not guilty plea to a charge of aggravated sexual assault in Wollongong court. The matter has been adjourned to April 17, the week of the Dragons' round six clash with Manly at WIN Stadium.

Pretty disgusting allegations. I suspect he'll never play the game again if convicted.

It’s such a high bar to jump, the chances of conviction are pretty low.

If he’s guilty I hope he gets the full punishment. Hard to prove these type of allegations. However, police don’t make these charges without some sort of evidence.

That is a tough article to read. I know the world is a pretty **** up place but I just can't understand how anybody could treat another human being, as alleged in that article. How can you have sex with someone who clearly isn't enjoying it? I know it's just allegations at this stage and it's all difficult to prove ... I don't know what to say aside from expressing my disgust.

I’m interested to see how Ravalawa goes this year. It’s a bit of a sore point as a Raiders fan I guess but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him slot straight in given when he was signed.

Pereira did a good job for them last year but the other options seem like they’d be makeshift wingers (Dufty and Lomax)

St George Illawarra Dragons forward Jack De Belin declines invitation to stand down after meeting NRL

What on earth does that mean? Declining an invitation to stand down? Doesn’t the club or NRL just stand them down?

They were giving him the opportunity to stand down voluntarily. Presumably some legal reason.

Peter Beattie on TV today saying it is likely anyone facing a criminal charge with a penalty of 10 years in jail or more will be stood down in future.

Dragons have served the NRL legal papers if they stand him down. It's what I said last night in the thread about the salary cap, it had the smell that the Dragons were backing the administration in a corner and here we are.

St George Illawarra Dragons are preparing for a courtroom showdown with the ARLC over Jack de Belin

The Dragons served the ARL with legal papers on Wednesday afternoon, informing the league they planned to sue if embattled star Jack de Belin is stood down on Thursday. The Dragons believe there should be a presumption of innocence until de Belin’s court case is resolved.

In the petty grudge holding world of Rugby League that's a very bad move by the Dragons imo. Especially since they had to go cap in hand to the NRL a couple of years ago.

Agree. The Dragons are taking a pretty big risk with this kind of threat.

I would think more than handful of their fans would be pretty disappointed with the way the club has handled this.

Especially if De Bellend is found guilty.
