Re: Melbourne Storm 2019
I've never seen Smith have as many injuries as last year. If he goes down for extended periods I think they struggle. B Smith is a good replacement but not the same.

Cameron Smith signs two-year deal with Melbourne Storm
Cameron Smith, 36, is set to become the first NRL player to reach 400 games after signing a two-year extension with Melbourne Storm on Wednesday.
The former Test and Origin captain is just 16 games short of the magical milestone that seemed unattainable not that long ago.

Re: Melbourne Storm 2019
If he decides he has had enough and wants to call it quits at the end of 2019 I guess he could use that final year of his contract as leverage for a job after football deal at the Storm in 2020, which then wouldn't be added to the salary cap.

Melbourne Storm re-signs Sandor Earl for two more seasons
Sandor Earl has been given two year contract extension to end 2020. After a four year suspension for performance enhancing drug breaches, the Storm signed him for the 2018 season, but an ACL tear in pre-season delayed his return. He then played nine games for the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Queensland Cup, missing out on a first-grade call up from Craig Bellamy.

Tech-savvy Melbourne Storm casting a wide net in search for talent
“Director of Data Insights and Decision Technology” is a grand title for someone who works at a football club but, within a decade, every NRL club will have one.
It’s the job description of English Premier League club Manchester City’s Lee Mooney, who is in charge of using the internet to recruit talent. But social media can also be used to monitor the behaviour of current players.

The Melbourne Storm are currently having salary cap issues, NRL Insider Dobbo can reveal, and are in danger of not being allowed to field a side for Round 1 of the Telstra premiership season if this is not resolved.
Dobbo told Triple M's The Big Breakfast this morning that Melbourne are over their salary cap and have been instructed to shed players to get under the salary cap by Round 1.

Sam Kasiano's move to Catalan Dragons frees Cameron Smith to play in Round 1 for Melbourne Storm
Sam Kasiano has joined Super League outfit Catalans Dragons, bringing Melbourne back under the salary cap in time for Cameron Smith to take the paddock in round one. The former Kiwi international leaves Melbourne after just one season of a lucrative three-year deal. The Storm had been roughly $200,000 over the cap less than a week to the start of the season.

Don't think there's much in this. They've been shopping Kasiano for a long time. Over paid for him and didn't deliver what they expected. It just wasn't easy finding somebody in the NRL willing to take over his contract so it took longer than expected. Reckon this deal has been in the pipeline for several weeks and only recently been officially announced.-PJ- wrote: ↑March 10, 2019, 10:51 amAnything Storm really !!!!Northern Raider wrote: ↑March 10, 2019, 10:35 amWhich part? The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
