Haha, God I hope the Bears buy them. That would be the greatest 'in your face' in the history of rugby league.

I'm going to assume this means Manly will need a new hooker for 2020. We may have reached peak off-season early.

So Lichaa or Levi to Manly? oooof. If I was Havili I'd be all over that to try and get a starting gig.

He's a good hooker is Havilii. Suit a team like Manly who already have a dominant, organising half and just need quick, quality ball and direct play.

I want to see him stay here to cover Hodgo when he's injured (tends to miss a few weeks each year) or be a bench option. But from his career POV he's better than half the likes of Lichaa and Levi imo.

Andrew McCullough would be ideal for them and Broncos want to offload him.
He's a fairly one dimensional player but as you say, with DCE the dominant half they just need good service.

NRL statement on Manase Fainu

The National Rugby League has today advised the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles that Manase Fainu will be subject to the No-Fault Stand Down rule should he be granted bail prior to the completion of court proceedings.

Fainu was today charged with the offences of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, affray and reckless grievous bodily harm in company and has been denied bail. He will automatically be stood down from all matches, including the Club Nines and the NRL Premiership, on a no-fault basis until court proceedings are completed.

NRL Chief Executive Todd Greenberg said the stand down rule made no judgment on guilt or innocence, but protected the reputation of the Game and its stakeholders.

"The no-fault stand down rule provides for the automatic stand down of players on a no-fault basis where they are charged with a serious criminal offence," he said.

"Given the charges, Manase Fainu is automatically subject to the no-fault stand down rule, which will remain in place until the outcome of the court proceedings."

The No-Fault Stand Down rule was introduced in March this year and was confirmed by the Federal Court in May.

Manly re-signed Tapau until 2022.

https://www.seaeagles.com.au/news/2019/ ... -re-signs/

They must be spending about 50% of the cap on 4 players.

Yeah even in context you'd think this would have been a big contract for him.
