Suli has played heaps. He's overrated. Has a butt load of talent but none of the work ethic to turn it into tangible gains.

Brookvale upgrade a step closer with $20m government funding pledge

Image

Manly’s spiritual home at Brookvale will undergo a major refurbishment after the NSW government committed $20 million towards a new centre of excellence.

The injection will go a long way towards funding the $36.1m project, with the Sea Eagles and the federal government covering the rest.

This is well overdue.
Brookie is disgusting.

I wonder what they're going to do with the demountables.

It is not clear to me that that picture is what they're going to get with $20 million. It looks like that builds a centre of excellence at the northern end, with a tiny bay of seating in front of it where there is presently a hill. I'd say a new stand around the other end and the eastern side is a pipe dream.

Manly Sea Eagles back Dylan Walker facing deregistration if found guilty of assault

If found guilty of assaulting his partner, Dylan Walker faces the prospect of being deregistered by the NRL. Walker, who was stood down on Friday by the NRL under the new "no-fault stand down policy" by CEO Todd Greenberg, would be unlikely to be allowed to return to the competition following the precedent set in the recent case involving former Cowboys fullback Ben Barba.

Makes sense from both sides there. Bargain basement one year player from Penrith who are short in genuine second row depth. I presume Manly will use that cap spot for an outside back or back up fullback where they are very thin.

"I simply, based on the evidence and Ms Ivkovic's immediate retraction, could not be satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt of the guilt of Mr Walker," Manly Local Court magistrate Michelle Goodwin said

Once again demonstrates how difficult it is to get a DV conviction when the alleged victim changes their story to protect the accused.

Interesting that an AVO was still applied.

Typically these types of avo’s suggest if she feels threatened in anyway at all, anything as minor as raising of voice or a poorly formed text he goes directly to jail, no passing go, no $200.

She reportedly had the full support of the NRL if she had chosen to pursue charges and separate from him but she chose to change her story.

I'm not sure if that makes her a **** or if it highlights just how difficult it can be for many women to escape domestic violence.

Complicated by the fact that they have a baby together. Its not as simple as just saying "your dropped" walking out the door.

You're the ****. She's showing pretty much every red flag of being in an abusive relationship.

I can completely see it: "Sweetie, you know I didn't really grab your hair, you know I just grabbed your shoulder, you know you made a mistake, I would never hurt you, you don't want me to get in trouble, do you? You know that no-one else will love you like I do...just tell the police about your little mistake, you just made me so angry, but I'll never do it again, I promise..."

I still can't believe this. Yeah, because people just magically fall to the ground when someone grabs their shoulder.

Manly Sea Eagles Dylan Walker cleared to return after being found not guilty of domestic violence charge

The NRL has cleared Dylan Walker to return to playing for Manly, effective immediately. This follows his acquittal of assault charges and a review of the court documents by the NRL Integrity Unit. CEO Todd Greenberg said Walker’s "no fault stand down" period has expired and he is free to return to the NRL.

Danny Weidler reporting the Penn family are looking to sell the club. They’re spending a lot of time in New York for personal reasons, so they’re looking to sell.

NRL believes they’re worth $10m-$12m. Some player agents are looking to create a consortium to buy them
