They're giving a penalty try for a foul... knee from Watene Zelezniak! PENALTY TRY! That is very lucky for England. Converted from in front by Connor.

Looking at the replay of the knees from Watene Zelezniak... and it really was poor stuff. Didn't look like a penalty try live, but perhaps it was the right call.

The occasional vision of the western side shows the upper tier is completely unoccupied. Very disappointing to see. Good crowd in the lower tier though.

England win opening Test match over New Zealand Kiwis

A wonderful solo try from Oliver Gildart on his debut helped England to a hard-fought 18-16 victory in the opening match of the three-match Test series against New Zealand.

England were trailing 14-12 when Gildart, a late call-up for the series, produced a moment of brilliance to light up the game and get the post-World Cup era under Wayne Bennett off to a dream start.

Sam Tomkins, playing under Bennett for the first time, opened the scoring on his first appearance for England for four years.
