Most NRL games with the same jersey number

So I was checking out the NRL Reddit page, and this was being discussed. I thought I’d bring it over here, because I don’t have a reddit account, and I wanted to discuss it haha.

So, the question is, which player has played the most games wearing the same number? If they have worn multiple numbers, they are excluded.

The Redditors so far have Sam Tomkins wearing the #1 for 37 games. Can this be beaten?

Belcher came close, 147 games wearing #1, 1 game wearing #15, so he’s excluded

For now, lets keep it at club level, excluding Origin and National levels

Brian Carney - 26
Lachlan Lewis - 9

Croker played wing early in his career though?

Cam Smith would have to be the nrl holder with the #9 Jersey and over 300 games surely

Orford looked promising, but he’s also played #6 and #18

I thought that, and found that they tend to alternate between #2 and #5. Storm wingers did that, so did Radradra.

Halves considered the next best thing have come close, but there’s a lot that chop and change between #6 and #7
