QLD will no doubt pick Glasby.... they need all of his 5 runs for 10 meters combined with 4 errors.

Yeah, I think Boyd can kiss his origin dreams good bye. Prior is not a bad player but you know if you're not getting picked over him there's something fundamentally wrong with the way you play.
Re: 2018 State of Origin II: New South Wales V Queensland
Very disappointed that Nic Cotric wasn't kept as part of the extended NSW squad. Particularly with the injury concerns over Mitchell and Roberts.
Interesting that the RCG replacement is between Ryan James and Matt Prior. James is more of a meter eater with the ball but Prior is more like RCG in hit and stick defense. So does Freddy go more 'like for like' or try to improve the offensive capability of the side? Ryan James was in great form on the weekend so I think he will get the nod. But you never know with Freddy.

I heard that James was told he was playing in game 1 and then Klemmer had a big game on Sunday and Fittler then backflipped on his original decision.RedRaider wrote: ↑June 18, 2018, 3:24 am Very disappointed that Nic Cotric wasn't kept as part of the extended NSW squad. Prior over James would be classic NSW.

Glasby cover for Napa. Slater and Ponga in for Morgan and Milford. Otherwise same squad isn't it?

Not really. QLD are pretty thin for back rowers. Guerra about the only other who could be considered. Only other option is play Paps on the edge.

Canberra Raiders winger Nick Cotric vows to keep banging on Brad Fittler's door
It is the phone call players either dream of or dread. While Nick Cotric didn't get the news he was hoping for, the Canberra Raiders young gun has vowed to keep banging on Brad Fittler's door.
"It was a good learning curve for me, it was good to meet the other boys from the other teams, the superstars from the other teams. It was good to see how they prepare for a game, the extras they do. I learnt a bit from that camp and it was just a good experience. It was just great to be a part of the squad. I’ve always dreamt of being a part of Origin and to see what it’s like and to see what it’s about really opened my eyes.

Even more ordinary was the other backrower, Kaufusi. Astounding how many crucial missed tackles he had.

Yeah, Kaufusi and Morgan were terrible in game 1. Qld won’t miss Morgan

Thought Kaufusi was one of our best. Seemed to be the only one who looked dangerous with the footy under his wing. In a game of 742 missed tackles didn't think his were that bad.

Go watch the replay of the game, or even just the highlights. He was heavily, negatively involved.
Glad he has retained his spot, though I’m sure he’ll improve on his last start effort.

I agree - Kaufusi was the pick of an average Qld forward pack for me. McGuire did absolutely nothing in my view and is an extremely over-rated player.

37th min TRY BLUES to Nakia Davis Welsh in the corner, big overlap and the cover can’t quite stop the try. It’s off the back of a penalty. No conversion.

46th min TRY MAROONS to Karina Brown, set up by Brigginshaw. The Maroons take advantage of a forced line drop out on the Blues. Baker can’t convert, it hits the post and bounces away.
