Any old farts on here remember Ali Brigginshaw’s father Larry playing for Easts Tigers in the BRL?

55th min TRY BLUES to Isabelle Kelly. Great work from New South Wales to get a repeat set with a high kick. Queensland have dominated much of this match, but New South Wales have made the most of their opportunities. Studdon converts.
New South Wales 16-10

This is fantastic.
I can see myself really getting into this.
Can't wait for the Raiders to enter a team.

Great game. Can't wait until we get a Raiders side in the women's competition. Buy that NSW number 8 and the two QLD back rowers.

Yep.
Absolute cracker.
And now we wait for a NSW double on Sunday night.
What a great spectacle. Next year I believe this game needs to be played as the curtain raiser to the men's game. I'm not sure what the crowd was at NSO but the women would be playing in front of 50,000+ if it was at Scumcorp or Homebush.

The problem is that the NRL would play it at 4 in the afternoon and argue that they need time between games to set up the stage for the Veronicas
Re: 2018 State of Origin II: New South Wales V Queensland
Leave it as a standalone game
They got 7000, but considering its the only game on Friday night the ratings would have been huge

They(NRL)would find a way to screw it.

I can see this game really capturing the imagination, and hearts of the public.
Every woman out there played tremendously, with passion and dedication.
It was inspiring and I had goose bumps when NSW scored the winning try.
I haven't had that in years.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Re: 2018 State of Origin II: New South Wales V Queensland
Interesting story about Hannah Southwell. She played on the wing last night for NSW when Corban McGregor went off injured early.
Hannah wore jersey #17(headgear).
Anyway, Hannah grew up in Newcastle and up till the age of 13 played rugby league with the boys. She was told at 13 see couldn't play league anymore and went to soccer. At age 15 she became the youngest goalkeeper in W-League history while playing for the Newcastle Jets. She also represented Australia at Rugby 7s. And when the women's rugby league started up she's back where it all started.
Still only 19..quite a sportsperson.

NSW scored the match winner in Game III 2016, though that was a dead rubber. Can’t remember the last time they did it in a meaningful/live gameDr Zaius wrote:Probably because NSW haven't scored the winning try in yearsdubby wrote:I can see this game really capturing the imagination, and hearts of the public.

She'll be right, Maroons have been here before: Canberra Raiders forward Josh Papalii
Queensland's State of Origin dynasty is staring defeat in the face, but a typically laid-back Josh Papalii declares "we'll be right".
"I had a really good week for myself and re-signed for another four years, something I'm very proud of. Hopefully do a job [on] Sunday and deliver for the Queensland people. Queensland's been in this situation before. I think we'll be right. All the boys are pretty buzzed up and ready to go."

That’s great doc. Queensland kick off! We are underway in the Residents clash.
Re: 2018 State of Origin II: New South Wales V Queensland
6th min TRY BLUES to Kyle Flanagan, following a Blayke Brailey kick. Looked like it’d go dead, but Flanagan got there first. Flanagan converts his own try.
