With lotion.

Some decent footy for the first round from most teams. Storm just too clinical tonight. Even with no Slater the fact they have two great attacking wingers (and Munster) means they can strangle the opposition and then take advantage of the mistakes with blinding speed.

1 from 3 today. Saturday always ruins my tipping.

2018 NRL Round 1: Teams and Game Day

Shocking start from panthers. Three terrible dropped balls, two from Edwards.

Freddie and Joey are already talking Moses up big time... NSW fans best get used to the idea of him being picked this year

Error #4 for Penrith. We’re only 12 minutes in to the game

Moses off for a concussion test. Panthers now with more of the ball.

Looking at a try for Mansour, looking at obstruction. I didn't think he got it down on 1st view.

That’s not an obstruction in my opinion... Hoffman ran into him because Hoffman was so far infield. Though Mansour lost the ball anyway, so no impact

Beautiful dummy from Norman. Poor defence from Fisher Harris and Wallace

Norman throws a dummy a goes in next to the posts. Bit of ball watching from Wallace and Fisher Harris.

Yeah I’m thinking Moses will be in the halves for the Blues this year, Freddie cannot get enough of him.

With no other world class players, we can’t do much better tbh. An injection of energy and trying something new might help us. He needs a strong centre to help him defend but.

Panthers making it very hard for themselves with regular errors and giving away penalties.

Hoffman with his second. Poor read from Mansour, his centre and also Maloney.

I reckon it’ll be Moses and Maloney in 2018, and then Moses and Cleary in 2019. It’ll be tough for the Blues to win until Smith retires, so I reckon Freddie will be wary of scarring Cleary by playing him too early. Moses is an arrogant ****, he could lose 10 straight series and still think his **** don’t stink, so Freddie won’t have an issue playing him this year.

Haha I can definitely see it playing out that way. Maloney has to be just about finished, but would be good to blood a new half with an established one

He’s skating on thin ice for sure a la Mr Turbitt.
Someone on the GH suggested after last year’s loss that the blues need to purge all players with 10+ games experience and start fresh, which I totally agree with. Cut Pearce, Woods, Fifita, Dugan, Ferguson, Hayne, Morris brothers etc. The one exception I’d make is Maloney for a year or two in order to help with the blooding of a new half as you said.

Live it like Ike’s a little dodgy. Given the stage of the game I’m surprised they did not check.

There is a Parra player lying on the line who didn’t object, so I guess it was ok?
