Former Raider Todd Carney reportedly in talks with Cowboys regarding a return to NRL on a one-year deal...

From Massoud on twitter, wouldn't be suprised if this happens, was pretty spot on with Suli and Hingano news

I wouldn’t imagine him getting much opportunity there.

Thurston, Morgan and the young kiwi fella all in front of him

Cover for Thurston in case of injury and Origin time when Morgan is out. Their halves depth isn’t great. Martin and Hampton are fringe 1st graders.

That said I imagine Carney playing in Q Cup all year.

Coote is also getting injured a lot. It allows them more flexibility.

Looks like the NRL have knocked him back. I feel he is a bit hard done by compared to Lodge.

Packer, Lodge and Carney... none of them should be playing NRL in my view, given the damage they have done to the reputation of the code.

Thurston's dream farewell becoming a nightmare for North Queensland

The Cowboys' inability to master the basics "you're taught as a kid" has all-but sounded the death knell on a finals farewell for champion playmaker Johnathan Thurston.

North Queensland's abysmal 59 per cent completion rate and 20 errors ensured a disappointing 20-14 loss to Parramatta in Darwin on Saturday night, which will leave them stranded eight competition points away from the top eight by the end of round 14.

Brisbane Broncos lock Josh McGuire signs four-year deal with North Queensland Cowboys

Test lock Josh McGuire has inked a four-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys after being released by the Brisbane Broncos from his current playing deal.

The 28-year-old was contracted to Brisbane until the end of 2020 but the move north allows McGuire to secure his long-term future and ease salary cap pressure on the Broncos as they prepare to re-sign Matt Lodge, Tevita Pangai Jnr and Corey Oates.

McGuire will be handy off the bench to give Lolo a 15 min spell.

I’d say he’d be starting prop and they have concerns over Matt Scott playing footy again. Or at least much footy.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

These days the position is really middle forward. Props and locks all one and the same. About the only difference is no13 tends to play longer minutes and their hit ups are more spread.
