Warriors best 17 for 2018 NRL season: Recruitment decision club finally gets right
WHEN you are looking for a quick fix, it’s very easy to fall for the shiny thing in the window with the expensive price tag. In Blake Green and Tohu Harris the Auckland-based franchise has potentially found the answer to their current conundrum.
An active recruitment campaign has yielded seven possible new faces for the team expected to run out in Round 1 but it will be the influence of former Storm and Sea Eagles five-eighth Green and Melbourne premiership-winner Harris that can quickly turn pretenders into contenders.
THE BEST 17
1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. Peta Hiku
3. Gerard Beale
4. Solomone Kata
5. David Fusitua
6. Blake Green
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Adam Blair
9. Issac Luke
10. Albert Vete
11. Tohu Harris
12. Agnatius Paasi
13. Simon Mannering
14. Nathaniel Roache
15. James Gavet
16. Sam Lisone
17. Leivaha Pulu
Others: Bunty Afoa, Blake Ayshford, James Bell, Manaia Cherrington, Anthony Gelling, Ata Hingano, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Mason Lino, Ken Maumalo, Isaiah Papali’I, Jazz Tevaga.

New Zealand Warriors CEO reveals new recruitment strategy
New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George insists the club didn’t deliberately target Kiwi recruits but wanted a more balanced squad rather than one built around big names.
“Across the park now we have got a very even team with a really good mix of experience in our whole top 30 [squad] and that was deliberate,” George said. “In other years, we have had three or four superstars and the rest were young kids with a heap of ability who just didn’t have the leadership around them.”

not a bad way of doing it, and hopefully bring a bit more consistency and passion back into the jersey.
Think there were a few players who signed up just for the money and the cheaper dollar

I'm not sure Blake Green is a premiership winning player. Solid. That's it.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Almost (and maybe should have) won it in 2016; definitely wasn’t his fault Melbourne lost that GF.

Re: New Zealand Warriors 2018
they've got enough x factor in the spine outside of Green, They need someone who know's when to pass, can kick well and get them around the park, Green can do that job however I'm still not sure they have enough grunt up front and class out wide although they have upgraded those area's with some other decent signingsdubby wrote:I'm not sure Blake Green is a premiership winning player. Warriors taking two home games to Wellington for next two NRL seasons: http://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-newspapers/ce ... RL-seasons
Odds of $1.01 one of them will be us.
Not that I mind too much. I’m sick of going to Auckland.

Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Shaun Johnson to seek interest from rival clubs after Warriors impasse grows
Warriors halfback and club great Shaun Johnson says he now has the chance to "spread his wings" and gauge interest from rival NRL clubs after having not been offered a deal at the Warriors beyond 2019.

What Johnson said:
"I thought it's best I clear a couple things up regarding my situation at this stage with the Warriors. Firstly, there is no contract for me to sign past 2019. Secondly if you saw the article that came out a few weeks back [...] they said they are in no rush to re-sign me. Since then they have told me again at this stage they [won't] be offering me anything. That means I get to spread my wings and see what's out there so right now that's what I'm doing!"
