Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
Rugby League World Cup boss Andrew Hill hoped for bigger Canberra crowds
World Cup boss Andrew Hill put the onus on Canberra rugby league officials to take advantage of a wave of new customers that attended international games in the capital.
Hill admits he hoped for bigger crowds at each game played at Canberra Stadium with a total of 24,455 fans coming through the gates across three fixtures.

And I'll tell Mr Andrew Hill something. They would have got bigger crowds if the RLWC2017 had not mishandled the ticketing, ticket prices and promotion. It was a debacle how they treated the local rugby league fans, promoted the events and priced them. The lack of open training sessions and signing opportunities in the lead up to games was also disgraceful.

Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
We went to the game on Friday just to see Campo play, but the prices for tickets were insane, for the non-Australian games it should have been a gold coin donation just to get a crowd and an atmosphere.
Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
24th min Wales winger Regan Grace nearly goes over in the corner, but his foot is on the touch line.
Ireland 6-0

Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
Teams are coming out now for England V France... welcomed as is now customary by the didgeridoo. France first, followed by England, as, remarkably, this ground does not allow the teams to walk out side by side.
It is not the best crowd, but we're told it is between 16-17,000!

Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
Now the national anthems. God save the Queen. She's our Queen too so why are they claiming her! Maybe because she lives in London. Now La Marseillaise! Stirring stuff! To arms, citizens! Let’s march!
And here we go!
And here we go!
Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
I have to say, the pre game presentations are flawless for this World Cup. They are brilliant, the music outstanding, and builds the atmosphere. France to kick off. We are underway!
Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day

Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day

First game I’ve been in a position to watch live n no Hodghead dammit
Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
Have to say, it is tough for Ireland, eliminated after two wins, while Samoa goes through without winning a match. Flawed.
Re: 2017 World Cup Week 3: Teams and Game Day
6th min TRY ENGLAND to Stefan Ratchford, the live call is try... and the video referee says it is... but it looks like he dropped it on replay. Widdop converts from the sideline. Very lucky call.
