Fiji and Wales now walking out onto the field, side by side in Townsville. Next up, the national anthems! The Welsh anthem beautifully sung. It's been a highlight of the World Cup, how well the games have been presented. Now the Fiji anthem... and Kevin Naiqama is in tears again!

And now the Fiji hymn. This is always beautiful as well. Outstanding.

It is a shame the crowd is so poor in Townsville. No more international football for them!

6th min TRY FIJI to Eloni Vunakece and it is a little too easy. He steps and bounces and goes over. Koroisau converts from close to the posts.

Baptiste's influence got them home in this game imo. He broke it open with the bust, more imprtantly when Segayaro was at #9 they couldn't get a kick away- terrible end to sets. Kurt got on and ensured they played sensibly at the end and that allowed them to keep the pressure on Ireland instead of absorbing it the other way.

14th min TRY FIJI to Vunivalu, just bounces off Kear and he plants it in the corner. That was again too easy.

16th min TRY FIJI to Henry Raiwalui, after a break from Salesi Faingaa. This is a very loose game, they open up the attack and Wales has no answer. Converted.

27th min TRY FIJI to Salesi Faingaa. He just chases the kick through and it is an easy try. The video referee says he does not knock on in the lead up, off the thigh. Koroisau converts again.

42nd min TRY FIJI to Jarryd Hayne, he backs up the Vunivalu break and they have resumed normal transmission very quickly indeed. The Super League really need to do something to boost Scotland and Wales. They've been horrible this weekend. Converted from in front.

Scotland's Danny Brough, Sam Brooks and Jonathan Walker were too drunk to board a plane to Australia from Christchurch today. Booted from the Scotland squad. Brough the captain as I recall.

56th min TRY FIJI to Taane Milne. I suppose the score line could be worse for Wales. I was concerned Fiji might be off the mark after the Pacific Tri Series warm up... but no chance of that. No conversion.

Fiji 58-6

Highest ever score for Fiji in a World Cup match.

The Welsh have been bloody disappointing. As has Scotland.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
