77th min Panthers held out... the Broncos not on side at any ruck.

Every bronco offside. Every tackle they're holding them down forever. Pathetic

How much spoiling near their line can the Broncos get away with? Terrible refereeing not to encourage attacking play.

Neither of these teams deserve to be in a prelim.

Last year the Sharks used the tactic to win a premiership. Now most sides use it when they have a lead.

5 minute sin bin has to come back so the refs can bin players for deliberate ruck penalties.

Anyway. The Panthers stumbled their way into the top 8. Beat a rubbish Manly side last week and couldn't beat an injury decimated Brisbane who made 15 errors and missed 41 tackles.

Penrith didn't get a call all night but it wouldn't have mattered
They looked utterly clueless with the ball. No plan what so ever

Peter Wallace stinks. A basic ball distributor who should be playing in England

Panthers attack was impotent. Not sure Edwards will be as good as most pundits are making out... I'd prefer a ball playing fullback over any running fullback not named James tedesco

And yet people were calling for him to be picked in origin... Shows the lack of hooking options for NSW

That's exactly right
Peats was roundly praised for his performance and I doubt his name was called once by commentators all series for something other than a tackle
That's just where nsw are right now

I kind of agree
I think he's very talented but his ball playing severely limited
Could be a major problem if he doesn't develop that part of his game

Penrith were always a myth if you looked at who they beat to get there. Brisbane are playing awful as well.

Panthers never beat a top 8 side did they? Apart from Manly.....

Broncos are pretty crap. Amazing considering they have so many big names
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Spot on. We handed them 4 points this year. If we didn't we would have replaced them in the finals.

Cowboys without Thurston once as well. They didn't bear a top 5 side.

Broncos have just breezed into prelims missing half their spine. Hard to imagine many sides having the depth to be able to do that.

Also early this morning Oates has already been cleared from concussion to play next week, after being stretchered off after the game was stopped.

You'd think so, particularly with how stringent sports have become with concussions.

Incredibly, after 20 minutes, the Sea Eagles lead the Sharks in Holden Cup 18-6. The Sharks have dominated all season, finished minor premiers on 43 points, four games ahead of the second placed Panthers. And they will be eliminated if they don't turn this around!
