Bulldogs tell NRL their players are unavailable for City-Country Origin selection

CANTERBURY have made the unprecedented call to advise the NRL their players will be excluded from City-Country Origin selection in a move designed to protect their welfare. The Bulldogs decision is heavily based on an unfavourable NRL draw, which has provided the club with just three days to recover between the City-Country Origin clash and their subsequent round 10 match against North Queensland on Thursday night May 11, at ANZ Stadium.

NRL won't do **** about this being the Bulldogs.

Fully expect SuperCoach to spin the exact same act with his donkey players not involved in the Aus/NZ team.

Looking at our team I would say we will definitely have 11 players representing this rep weekend, possibly 12 if Tapine gets selected

Kieran Foran signs three-year deal with Canterbury Bulldogs

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have signed New Zealand five-eighth Kieran Foran on a three year deal that will keep him at Belmore until the end of the 2020 season.

The Kiwi International and former NRL Premiership winner, will join the Bulldogs at the end of this season.

Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle was delighted to have secured the signature of the highly talented Foran: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Kieran for the next three seasons. He is a highly experienced and talented play-maker who will be a great asset to our team. We look forward to Kieran joining up with us leading into next year's campaign."

Coach Des Hasler was also looking forward to the 26 year-old joining up with the club : "I know that family was a determining priority in Kieran's decision. He could have chosen to go to a handful of Sydney clubs, so we are pleased that he has chosen to continue his career at the Bulldogs."

3 year deal doesn't mean much for Kieran Foran. Who knows where he'll end up beyond 2018.

Dog remains in kennel

Another piece of the Bulldogs’ roster puzzle has fallen into place, with goal-kicking winger Kerrod Holland poised to re-sign with the club. Despite attracting interest from other clubs and a rival code, Holland has agreed to a new three-year-deal.

In a move which keeps him in the Kennel until the end of 2020, Market Watch can reveal the Bulldogs staved off interest from rugby to their man.

Raelene Castle resigns from Canterbury Bulldogs

Raelene Castle has resigned from her position as Chief Executive and will finish with the Bulldogs at the end of the 2017 football season the club announced on Thursday morning.

Raelene Castle said "I have loved every moment of my time at the Bulldogs and after four years in the role, the time is now right to look for my next challenge. I wish the club and the team every success for the future.

"I am pleased that together with the Board we could give the club leadership continuity and a professional transition to new leadership." Castle said.

The real reason behind the Bulldogs’ diabolical 2017 NRL season

WANT to know the real reason the Bulldogs have been so diabolical to watch for the past two months? Because the club has been shopping the majority of its playing roster to rival clubs in a fire sale aimed at getting under the salary cap for next season.

Yep, essentially a large portion of the Bulldogs playing roster — even though they’re contracted for next season — are being offered up to rival clubs. It’s all the big-name players, too. Captain James Graham, the Morris twins, Moses Mbye and Greg Eastwood have all been discussed for much of the season.

Castle and Hasler can't survive if this is true. They'll take a bath on those contracts and probably end up spending close to $1million on players playing elsewhere.

Hasn't Castle resigned?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Rightly so. It might be Hasler's plan but as the CEO she is paid to keep him in check.

How the Canterbury Bulldogs threw their salary cap into disarray with reckless spending

IT is the multimillion-dollar spending spree which has left Canterbury’s salary cap in disarray with their failure to heed multiple warnings by the NRL leaving the game’s governing body unsympathetic to their plight.

It could also cost the club star recruits Kieran Foran and Aaron Woods, whose contracts are yet to be fully ratified by the NRL.

Canterbury Bulldogs squad up for grabs to ease salary cap pressure

The Bulldogs have told rival clubs their entire squad is up for grabs - except for three 'untouchables' - in their desperate attempt to get under the salary cap next season.

Having spent big on Kieran Foran and Aaron Woods, the Dogs are well over the cap and need to shed an estimated two or three players to get in the black again. So their entire squad is for sale - apart from key forwards David Klemmer, Josh Jackson and Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

Gee so why extend his contract in the first place? Fair dinkum
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Canterbury Bulldogs sack coach Des Hasler

DES Hasler has been sacked by the Canterbury Bulldogs. Just months after signing a two-year $2 million extension, Hasler was informed by the Bulldogs board on Tuesday that his services were no longer required.

South Sydney’s Michael Maguire and Canberra’s assistant coach Dean Pay are the frontrunners for the job.
