Eels winger Vai Toutai leaves club after allegedly glassing Rebels bikie who ‘vowed to exact own revenge’

AN NRL player will face justice bikie style after allegedly glassing a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang.

Parramatta Eels winger Vai Toutai is believed to have broken a glass over the man’s head during a night out in Sydney’s west in early December.

The victim is understood to have vowed to exact his own revenge after refusing to press charges when police were called to the pub.

John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Cameron King could become Parramatta’s first choice hooker in 2017

Cameron King could be the Eels unlikely saviour this season after bolting into contention to become the club’s first choice hooker. King spent the season playing NSW Cup last year after recovering from the knee injury that threatened his career.

“I came to Parramatta at the start of the season,’’ King said. “And I was fit and playing well but they couldn’t play me in first grade because of the salary cap. It was one of the hardest years career wise because I was playing well but couldn’t get the opportunity because of the salary cap situation.

Are we talking Semi here? If so, it's a difficult position for the club when the player is pleading not guilty. With examples like Stewart, El Masri and SKD, it is important that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It's obviously a different story if they plead guilty or are found to be guilty by the courts.

Semi, Edwards take your pick

While I'm thinking of it , throw in Norman for his charges

Vai has not been charged or pleaded guilty he is just not a "star"

The club has serious problems off the field

Parramatta Eels Semi Radrada to quit NRL after accepting offer to play French union

Controversial Eels winger Semi Radradra will quit the NRL at the end of the season after signing a lucrative deal with French rugby club Toulon.

The future of Radradra has been the subject of great discussion over the past 18 months, but it was finally put to bed on Wednesday when Parramatta confirmed he would be leaving the club after their 2017 campaign.

Parramatta Eels Semi Radradra will have to apply for permission to leave the country for NRL Auckland Nines

Semi Radradra will have to apply to the courts for permission to play in the Auckland Nines, given the recent travel restrictions placed on the controversial Eels winger.

Radradra, who had his passport confiscated and later returned after failing to appear in court on domestic violence charges for family reasons, won't be able to play in the tournament in the first weekend of February unless he is granted permission.

Brad Arthur says Bevan French will get first crack at fullback for Parramatta Eels in 2017

PARRAMATTA coach Brad Arthur has confirmed Bevan French will get the first crack at the Eels’ vacant fullback role in 2017.

"Bevan will get the first opportunity at fullback," Arthur said. "He’s trained all pre-season there Fullbacks clock up the most kilometres in the game so they do a lot of running. So we’ve had a big focus with Bev in terms of his work at training. Clint Gutherson is probably our standout in terms of the fitness component part of it, Bevan is trying really hard to get up there with him."

Parramatta Eels best 17 for 2017 NRL season: Depth now Brad Arthur’s silver lining

REMEMBER Sticky’s projector? The 13 Parramatta players told their services weren’t required by Ricky Stuart as he went about cleaning out a club crippled by years of below average recruiting?

THE BEST 17

1. Bevan French 2. Semi Radradra 3. Michael Jennings 4. Brad Takairangi 5. Josh Hoffman 6. Cinton Gutherson 7. Corey Norman 8. Tim Mannah 9. Issac De Gois 10. Nathan Brown 11. Manu Ma’u 12. Beau Scott 13. Tepai Moeroa

14. Kenny Edwards 15. Siosaia Vave 16. Frank Pritchard 17. Suaia Matagi

OTHERS: Kirisome Auva’a, Daniel Alvaro, David Gower, Peni Terepo, Jeff Robson, Jamal Fogarty, Kaysa Pritchard, Cameron King, John Folau, James Hasson, George Jennings, Cody Nelson, Rory O’Brien, Will Smith, Alex Twal.

Still a half decent side with some depth. They could creep into the 8. Court cases pending of course.
