Australia coach Mal Meninga has rewarded his Kangaroos players with three days off following their undefeated start to the Four Nations campaign.
Fresh from beating New Zealand 14-8 at Coventry, the squad departed their Birmingham base for London on Sunday ahead of next week's clash with England at the Olympic Stadium (0100 Monday, AEDT).

Canberra Raiders winger Jordan Rapana defends Kenny-Dowall form
As pressure mounts on Shaun Kenny-Dowall to maintain his right centre spot for New Zealand, Jordan Rapana has thrown his support behind the veteran Rooster.
"When Kenny-Dowall is on he is definitely one of the best centres in the game, he is capable of setting me up with a lot of tries and I have got no doubt that once he hits his peak form and confidence is high, that he will be able to do anything," Rapana said. "He is my roommate and an awesome bloke, I definitely wouldn't say his confidence is down, it is more just that he hasn't played much footy over the last while.

Should have had Te Maire Martin in the side a lot sooner. Lewis Brown is a waste of test spot.

Canberra Raiders prop Joe Tapine to make Four Nations debut for New Zealand
Canberra Raiders prop Joe Tapine is set for his Kiwis debut, but Dean Pay says we're only starting to so what he can do.
"I think people are just getting a taste of what he can do. He's still only young so there is a lot of improvement left in him and a lot of development left in him," the former Kangaroos prop said. "He's going to be one hell of a player once he gets another couple of seasons under his belt that's for sure. He's a good player now so he's only going to improve on what he's doing now."

Canberra Raiders Jordan Rapana determined to be an ace for the Kiwis
After just a few weeks with the Kiwis, Jordan Rapana is already one of the confirmed card sharks on the team.
"I've cleaned up a couple of times," jokes Rapana. "We are not playing for much but it is always nice to win...some bragging rights."
"I was always going to be a lot more passionate wearing the black and white jersey and meeting these boys and seeing the culture here really does justify the decision. It's a dream come true; I'm really enjoying it and making the most of it."

Canberra Raiders Josh Hodgson tips Australian Four Nations loss
Canberra NRL hooker Josh Hodgson is convinced England can end a 10-year wait for a home win over Australia when they meet on Sunday in London.
"It's been a long time but this is a different team to the teams that have been and gone. We know if we are at our best, we can get the job done. We're not too worried about the opposition - we're looking at ourselves. It's a must-win for us, in terms of where we are in the tournament. It's a massive game."

Scotland makes two changes for clash with New Zealand
Scotland coach Steve McCormack has made two changes to his 19-man squad for the Ladbrokes Four Nations clash with New Zealand on Friday night. In come half-back Ryan Brierley and forward Billy McConnachie, who both made their test debuts in the defeat to Australia in the tournament opener, replacing hooker Callum Phillips and Widnes forward Sam Brooks.
Huddersfield's Brierley has fully recovered from the ankle sprain that ruled him out of training during the build-up to the England clash, while McConnachie of Ipswich Jets gets another opportunity after impressing in training this week in Preston. Workington Town youngster Phillips will be disappointed to miss out on his home ground, but older brother Brett is in the 19 and hoping to make his Four Nations bow on his club ground.

England's duo hail Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart
England forwards Josh Hodgson and Elliot Whitehead have credited Canberra coach Ricky Stuart with elevating their careers to new heights since joining the Raiders.
"Ricky has been massive for me, " said Hodgson. "One thing he is very big on is family and making sure that you're good outside of rugby league. He's a funny bloke and he gets a bad rap in the press for being a cranky bloke but he only gets cranky if you do anything wrong for him - so he's alright with me! He's been really good for me and brought me on as a senior player in the team and given me a lot of responsibility and that's added to my game massively.

David Kidwell expects debutants to shine for Kiwis
New Zealand will send four Test rookies into battle against Scotland this weekend, but coach David Kidwell has insisted he has no concerns about how they will handle the occasion.
Raiders winger Jordan Rapana is one player being rested, while Joe Tapine will make his debut on the bench.
"These guys are in this team for a reason and they belong in this team," Kidwell said. "They have earned their spot, I think they have really trained hard and helped the guys in the 17 prepare for the Tests before (against England and Australia).

Wayne Bennett doesn’t care what his critics think, and thinks Mal has it all wrong
ENGLAND coach Wayne Bennett insists Mal Meninga is wrong to think he’s trying to undermine him and warned his critics he isn’t going to change.
In a remarkable press conference in London’s docklands, the veteran coach said he and Australia coach Meninga spoke this week and maintained he’s done nothing wrong.
"He hasn’t said anything to me," Bennett said. "I saw him yesterday, spent a bit of time with him. It’s a matter of perception. I didn’t do that (undermine him). If that’s what he believes then that’s his prerogative."

Canberra Raiders forward Joseph Tapine: The key decision that led to a Kiwis debut
If you ask new Kiwis forward Joseph Tapine about fate, he'll agree it has been kind. His pre-season switch from Newcastle to Canberra was controversial - at one point the Knights threatened to bench him for the season - but has turned out to be a masterstroke.
"It was a great life move and career move for me and my partner," said Tapine. "I'm grateful for the decision I made - it turned out to be a really good one."

Canberra Raiders Josh Hodgson’s chief aim is to meet his own standards
ENGLAND hooker Josh Hodgson has distanced himself from comparisons with Australia captain Cameron Smith insisting he wants to be his "own player."
"I just don’t like to compare myself to people,"said the 27-year-old. “I want to be my own player. I have my own values, beliefs and expectations of myself and try to live up to them rather than compare to anyone. It’s always nice to play against the world’s best, but I don’t really like to look at individual battles. I just worry about myself and what I need to do for the team.

Canberra Raiders and England ace Josh Hodgson has no regrets over Hull KR departure
EYEBROWS were raised when Josh Hodgson swapped Hull KR for Canberra Raiders two years ago, but the England hooker has not looked back since.
“Moving to the other side of the world was certainly an eye-opener for me and changing clubs was a bit of a shock to the system as well. But to go from nowhere to where I am now in life itself and outside of rugby has been a massive change. I’m a big believer in when you’re happy away from the field you get your best form on it too, so it’s been great.”

Re: 2016 Four Nations Rd 3: Teams and Game Day
The teams walk out side by side. Now the Remembrance Day ceremony, the Last Post, and a minute's silence. The Bravehearts jersey incorporates a poppy, as does the Kiwis jersey.
It is a cold night in Workington, presently 8C and the crowd is rugged up.
Now the national anthems, first Flower of Scotland. Its wonderful. Now the New Zealand national anthem.

Now for the haka. There is a good crowd in the stands, but it is raining, so they are all huddled in the stands. Proud to see Joe Tapine out there, his first haka for the Kiwis. Now for the match!
Re: 2016 Four Nations Rd 3: Teams and Game Day
Scotland kick off and we are undeway at Derwent Park, Workington. It's a very strong breeze, the ball blown off the tee twice.

Re: 2016 Four Nations Rd 3: Teams and Game Day
9th min Scotland have really made a good start to the match and have had a couple of shots in the red zone. And now they receive a penalty 10m from the try line, with New Zealand offside.
Re: 2016 Four Nations Rd 3: Teams and Game Day
12th min Scotland have another penalty 1m out, the result of a ruck infringement. It is virtually in front, but they take the tap. Danny Addy goes off, sent to the blood bin. The play breaks down for Scotland, with Tierney knocking on. It is 0-0 with Scotland having had the better of the first 10 minutes.
Re: 2016 Four Nations Rd 3: Teams and Game Day
14th min Scotland have been forced in goal. It should have been a penalty, as they were lifted after the tackle was complete. Line drop out ruled instead. Tough call for Scotland.
