Kangaroos star Josh Dugan is ready to "rip and tear" into the Dragons' NRL pre-season training despite suffering a knee injury in the Four Nations final.
Dragons head of athletic performance Nathan Pickworth said Dugan had suffered a grade one ligament injury late in his two-try display in Australia's 34-8 win over New Zealand. But Pickworth said Dugan would hit the ground running when the NRL club returned from their Christmas-New Year break.

St George Illawarra Dragons forward Jack De Belin injured in freak accident
Lock Jack de Belin has broken his wrist in a freak accident at pre season training.
“I was doing a drill the other day and I literally fell over awkwardly and stuck my wrist out,” de Belin said. “We didn’t know what happened and the scans came back not indicating anything but it still felt funny. I went back for another one and this time it came back with a fractured scaphoid (wrist) which required surgery.”

McCrone ready to step in for St George Illawarra Dragons after Hutchison injury
Josh McCrone believes he is in position to become Gareth Widdop's permanent partner in the St George Illawarra halves in the wake of the long-term injury to youngster Drew Hutchison in pre-season training.
"I thought I had been training very well and posed as good competition for Drew before he went down," McCrone said. "There is a lot of extra motivation for me now to stand up. I am the most experienced bloke left to do the job so there is a sense of responsibility."
