Re: Confirmed NRL signings
They have signed players , but lesser quality therefore lesser money. This is helping them getting under the salary cap

Martin Taupau switch to Sea Eagles will help Wests Tigers sign Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses
Martin Taupau's release to Manly may have been revealed in bizarre circumstances by a Canadian theatre critic but Wests Tigers officials believe it will save them more drama next year by preventing boom halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses hitting the transfer market.

about only 2 of those signings would be top 25 , the rest would be 2nd tierHello123 wrote:WESTS TIGERS

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Yeah, exactly I'm saying I don't understand why they have to clear out the cap when they've signed no one and ditched Richards, Taupau, Galloway and Moltzen.
Re: Confirmed NRL signings
I still reckon their worst bit of retention/recruitment is letting Te Maire Martin go to Penrith.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

There worst bit of retention/recruitment is putting all there eggs in Mitchell Moses basket, so far it's cost them Austin and Martin and Moses looks nothing more than a Daniel Mortimer impersonatorjulian87 wrote:I still reckon their worst bit of retention/recruitment is letting Te Maire Martin go to Penrith.

Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor explains decision to allow Martin Taupau to sign with Manly Sea Eagles
THE decision to move Martin Taupau on with a year to run on his contract has shocked Wests Tigers fans, but Jason Taylor says it’s the right call for the club.
“It’s a pretty simple story for us. We made Marty an offer earlier in the year, which after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing he decided to knock back,” Taylor said.
“It became clear to us that he’s obviously been offered some really good money for 2017 and that he was going to take up that option.

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
I see what's Taylor is doing here... Phase 1- The Tigers are trying to retain Brooks and Moses so the game plan for 2016 is to remove any go forward they have by getting rid of Tapau, Galloway and Richards.Raidersrawesome wrote:Martin Taupau switch to Sea Eagles will help Wests Tigers sign Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses

And as any good coach knows a bunch of rookie halves will look bog ordinary behind a struggling pack. Therefore allowing Taylor to swoop in steal some underpants sign his halves combo on a long term minimal dollar deal...
Phase two-?
Phase three = Profits
Re: Confirmed NRL signings
yeah that Brooks-Moses thing was a fine idea a few years ago when they were rookies and showing a little bit of promise... but a few years down the track its maybe time to consider having some fall back options. Tia Maria (sic) is going to be a huge loss

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Surely Brooks and especially Moses are due for downgrades not upgrades?
It wouldnt shock me if the Tigers dont actually have the cash to fund the cap fully. They act like it.

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Cronulla Sharks sign Parramatta Eels Joseph Paulo
The Cronulla Sharks secured the services of ex-Parramatta Eel Joseph Paulo on a two-year-deal.
Released from the final year of his contract at the Eels, the 27-year-old will link with the Sharks for the 2016 and 2017 NRL seasons.
Head Coach Shane Flanagan said the Paulo signing is one that would bolster the Sharks forward stocks heading into the new campaign.
"Joseph is a skilful player, and he will be a welcome addition to our squad," Flanagan said.
"We're putting together a strong roster ahead of 2016, and Paulo will only add to what we're looking to build at the Club for next season and beyond."
Paulo debuted with the Panthers - against the Sharks at Remondis Stadium - in 2008, before joining the Eels midway through 2011.
Having played 6 Tests for Samoa (2008-10) and 4 Tests for the USA at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, the highly skillful ball-playing backrower will add depth to the squad and be an ideal replacement for the UK bound Anthony Tupou.
Auckland-born back-rower brings an added wealth of experience to the Cronulla squad.
Paulo will join his Sharks teammates as they return to pre-season training on November 9.

Is he related to Matthew Wood?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

That's a very good signing for Manly. I don't rate John that highly at all but strikes me as a player who can fit into their structure and act as a foil for DCE.Raidersrawesome wrote:Former Penrith five-eighth Isaac John has signed a one-year-deal with the club, reuniting with former Panthers assistant turned Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett.
