Re: Confirmed NRL signings
So does he still have to pay Souths the 5% fine? I reckon he has the right to tell them to **** right off.

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Can anybody attempt to rationalise Manly's salary cap? They have arguably had the best backline in the competition for the past five years (actually I don't think there are any arguments about it) and they lose Foran, upgrade DCE and a bunch of their juniors coming through. They lost Stewart and Watmough the year before. Recently lost a bunch of fringe players and signed Myles and in the frame for Walker. However I think they will miss Ballin more than they think.

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Manlys 9 and 6 will be their weak points this year.
Parcell have some potential , I dont rate Api though.
They will still need to move a few players , Hiku for one

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
They signed Marty taupau and Lewis brown as well. I certainly can't explain their cap. Barrett clearly knows that the easiest way to win is third party paymentsGerg wrote:Can anybody attempt to rationalise Manly's salary cap? Manly aren't a team I look at and go "wow, how are they under the cap?!?"
They've lost Foran, Watmaugh and Stewart amongst others. That's big dollars

They have replaced them with an Aus and QLD rep in Myles, Kiwi rep in Brown, re-signed and upgraded DCE to $1mil a year. Not to mention having Snake, Lyons, Matai.Pigman wrote:Manly aren't a team I look at and go "wow, how are they under the cap?!?"

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Foran was on 500k which all went to DCE and then some.Pigman wrote:Manly aren't a team I look at and go "wow, how are they under the cap?!?"

Stewart had no years left on his contract when he went to the rabbits so you can't add that to your budget.
Watmaugh is the only one you can add as big dollars that would affect the cap. He was going to be on 900k as it was backended and that would have finished up in 2016. So after that his potential dollars no longer affect the budget either.
Added:
Myles, 500k
Tapau, you'd assume is on more than myles but maybe the same amount in the cap.
Brown
Walker
Lussick
Koroisau
And retained:
Jake and Tom Trbojevic
Brett Stewart
Matai
You could say the cap looks stretched at best before walker even shows up. Clearly why they are trying to move Hiku on.

Re: Confirmed NRL signings
Damn - the Knights have gotten rid of Kidley and Houston - is there anyone left to pisstake during game calls?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
