Re: Off-Season Player Discussion: Bronson Harrison

pretender??? you can't be serious. The bloke has just won a world cup and played great in the final. I'm not saying he is going to play the house down but give him a chance. Sometimes all it takes is a change of club to give a player back that passion for the game. being played as a wide running 2n...

Re: Who will win most improved for Raiders in 09?

If i read this right you do your ratings for everyteam. Would it be possible that you could post your ratings for everyteam in a new thread? I find the idea of your ratings system pretty interesting and having a look at how you have assessed all the teams will give me some good reading material over...

Re: Cup a world away as Harrison wears the green

Hey guys, For the record I check out this site every day but as you can see don't often post any comments. Imo all this banter between sleek the elite and half a dozen others who seem to want to give him **** for having an opinion (whether its a stupid opinion or not) is actually up there with the m...

Re: Weyman hoping he fits Dragons' bill

Whats with all these people believing that Horse will just do his two years at the Dragons and return back to the green. I wouldn't be so sure... I couldn't agree more, If he gets down there and spends a couple of seasons under bennett, why would he leave. After all Bennett has a great track record...

Re: Off-Season Player Discussion: Terry Campese

I've said it in other threads and i firmly believe it Campese will go from strength to strength next season. All you need to do is look at how excited everyone is about our forward pack. Having the options and depth in our forwards will do wonders for his game, with the go forward they will produce ...

There is talk that the NRL will deregister him for a season.
So there is every chance he will end up in England

Re: Shillington vows to lead the charge

2 statements here 1) Harrison is a current international, won't be at Sths Logan in round 1. 2) We will not carry 4 forwards on the bench. I agree with you about Harrison definately making the 17 for round 1, but would have to disagree about your second statement. having an outside back on your ben...

Re: The Greenhouse 2009 Choice: Second rower No. 12

For round 1 I would have Picker and Thurling starting, with Harrison unlucky to miss out (i'm sure he will start in a lot of games next year). With all this talk of who is going to replace chalk as our utility i think Harrison could easy fill that role as a second rower who can play out wide in the ...

Re: Flanagan hungry to take No 9 jersey

I don't see a huge need to carry two hookers into the game, a fit hooker should be able to play 70min effectively the other 10 we can use tongue in there. I don't like the idea of buttriss playing a utility role where he is used in the backrow, we have the best forward pack we have had in years. The...

Re: Campese's rise gives Herbert reason to hope

McCrone is a usefull signing when you take into acount we have lost Dobson, Carney, Withers and Hinchcliffe. We need to cover for injuries or hopefully cover Campese when he plays origin. Therefore he should get his chance in grade at some point, its then up to him to keep his spot in the top squad.

Re: Michael Robertson

Manly have indicated that they can only keep one (robertson or williams) and that at this stage they are leaning towards keeping robertson, because he can cover fullback as well. Its a position they have a bit of depth in with tony williams and micheal Bani so i wouldnt be suprised if the wolfman is...

Re: Sam Huihahau

actually that was my point, the fact that Carney and Sam are of average height (as i have been corrected) i don't see them as working well on the same size i think he would be of more use outside Monas. I don't think comparing a winger to a halfback is justified there role in the game is totally dif...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation

im pretty sure the NRL told them they couldn't do it anymore. i would assume it would work on the same principle as blood doping which is banned in all sports and is a major trouble in cycling, you would think we could just do simulated altitude training at the AIS or at least look into tapping into...

Nev is a grub you see it in his game everytime he plays, which wasn't that often for us. I must say there are not many players that play/played for the raiders that i dislike but nev is definately one of them. I think he will be a much better player at the dragons because bennett should be able to g...

given that this kid is pretty short ( 180cm), does anybody know what side he prefers to play on??? If he lines up on the same side as monas i can easily see him securing a position on the wing and having a pretty good season, however it might be a little tougher for him to play outside justin Carney...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation

we shouldn't forget we have signed sam Huihahau (Not sure if thats the correct spelling). like most of us i only saw one of his games from last year but he went alright and obviously the coaching staff see something in him. 1. Milne 2. Graham 3. Carney 4. Mona 5. Purtell/ Huihahau By the time Graham...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation

i wouldnt touch either Turner or the wolfman. I'm a firm believer that wingers should be developed rather then forking out huge amounts of cash for them, and lets face it you would be paying a fair amount of cash for both these players. This is money that i think could be better spent (upgrading mor...

Re: Campese: Will he keep up his form in 09?

I think a lot of people on here have got it spot on, its all going to come down to the other options that we have on the park. Which in my opinion look pretty good... a fit herbet can organise the team which will take pressure off Campese combine that with the crisp passing game of buttris and the c...

i could see that hurting ticket sales, i can only speek for myself but i often buy a carton of beer a week which with prices these days is well over $30. Re: Raiders player signing speculation

i was just reading the london harlequins page and apparently mark mclinden is keen to return to Australia apparently he has been playing good footy as a fullback....he may be a good signing to add to our depth and he is only 29
i wouldnt throw the book at him but he may be worth a thought???
