"Obviously we've got a lot of youngsters, but I'm not about rebuilding. We can still win a comp with the players we've got," Rapana said. "I'm not here to rebuild, we all have the mentality to win a comp. I know a lot of people have written us off and that's fine. That's how we like ...

Guler continues to be the most bizarre GH scapegoat I’ve encountered. No, he never became a top tier prop but he wouldn’t be getting paid like one either. But he’s so much better than he’s given credit for on here. He’d be locked in starting front rower at a few other clubs. It’s not his fault the c...

I know Schiller isn’t a world beater but he’s been dealt his cards (behind Hopoate as first reserve for both three quarter spots). I wouldn’t be surprised to see clubs who need an outside back come knocking. Given what Hopoate dished up in pre season and Schiller far outplaying him I’d be looking fo...

Get the rubber ducky out cos old Daney Gagai is going to give Hoppa a bath. I realize he’s a fill in for Kris. But it is a real shame that after Croker retired Morkos opted out and now Hopoate is our first reserve center.
The most important win is Strange though so I’m happy enough.

Re: 2024 NRL Round 1: Teams and Game Day
Kevvie Walters has made a huge mistake releasing Capewell and not signing another second rower. Moving Carrigan to the edge can’t be their contingency having lost Flegler. That went a long way towards the end result in that game. If you have 3 running forwards on the bench, and Haas/Carrigan startin...

I don’t think Smith is going back to the middle order. Khawaja will be 38 for next summer. If Smith can average 40+ as an opener (who’d doubt him) then that’s better than 2 new faces at the top in 12 months time.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I’m actually, once again, on botmans side re Jed Stuart. Imo he’s a pretty perfect full time NSW Cup player. Can play second row or outside back. Tries his guts out, isn’t hopeless and isn’t a world beater. Will be competent at NSW Cup in whatever role he’s picked in. The club needs those players. W...

Re: 2024 Rd 1 v Knights: Teams and Previews
We might be starting the year with the "worst spine in the NRL" but that might not be where we finish. If that happens, combined with a strong performance from our pack we are a chance of the 8. I don't think it's likely that we do make the 8 as I think this year is the most competitive t...

Re: 2024 Rd 1 v Knights: Teams and Previews
I think wanting/expecting a top 8 finish is pretty crazy tbh. Canberra fell into the 8 last year. The 4 teams that finished directly behind have unquestionably far, far superior playing rosters. Only injury or suspension to their most important players could see them bottling it and not overtaking ...

Asomua ……. Agree he’s on the outside looking in right now, but he’s getting one of those wing spots sooner than later imo I don’t think he is having started this trial ahead of Cotric. I think it was on record that he just wanted to give Asomua minutes against starters since he always plays well ag...

Also on the discussion in this thread about Saulo. I have no stats to back me up but imo he looks better because he takes the easiest hit ups. Re: 2024 Trial 2 v Cowboys: Teams and Game Day *Teams p1*
Before reading the thread. Way more impressed than I thought I would be. I think the trials have underlined some pretty obvious stuff: - If Rapana is fullback then Savage has to be the non negotiable first choice winger. He can give Raps a spell and there’s no reason he can’t be another Addo Carr ty...

Re: Parramatta Eels still hoping to hold onto Raiders target Ethan Sanders
I agree the trial showed he needs more time playing that level since he hasn’t played NSW Cup yet. But if he’s a potential starting half in 2025, you want him here asap. Very important position, you want him in system when you can. I don't think he is a potential starting half in 25. Do you, given ...

If Dropoate plays fullback in round 1 I’m out before the season even begins. If it happens he’d legitimately be the worst first choice NRL era fullback. By a large margin.

Re: 2024 Trial 2 v Cowboys: Teams and Game Day *Teams p1*
Also have to add I think it would be extremely unfair to make Rapana play fullback this season. He’s out and out the best value Raider of this century. This sounds absurd but I genuinely think he’s our best winger, fullback and five-eighth at this point of his career. But expecting that output after...

Re: 2024 Trial 2 v Cowboys: Teams and Game Day *Teams p1*
I can’t even put into words how incredibly stupid Hopoate even sniffing fullback is. He’s by far the worst pet project Stuart has come up with yet. I’d do an entire season of Matt Allwood at centre over this debacle. It’s absurd but as I see it, it’s just a space filler for the trial I think Chevy ...
