Re: Stuart set to re-sign until 2018
You missed Buttriss , Cornish and McCrone . Those guys weren't in his top 17 in 2015 If you want to say 2014 wasn't his team, no problems But 2015 very much was his team and the results are on him I see your point, but that was his team that he built with the players available on the market or in t...

I can't see us signing farah. We are solid at dummy half for a change and I expect Sarah would be more likely to sign for epl than come to Canberra.

Re: Stuart and Furner on ABC Canberra Grandstand after 11am
For a team that had a brand new spine who had never played footy together as a combination, it's not surprising that we haven't made the 8. Our consistent competitiveness hroughout the season has surprised me. I think we're only a little way off a top 6 side. Chuck in an experienced and quality play...

Didn't pretty much the same thing happen at the storm? They let him go to chase the bigger coin the raiders were offering so he could pay his debts. I'm not sure exactly what 'first rate competition'ykure referring to, but pretty much all sporting leagues have player behaviour issues including gambl...

Considering how well publicised our attack has been this year that seems like a really daft comment from Toovey. Unless he meant was surprised based on expectations at the beginning of the year.greeneyed wrote:This was mentioned on NRL360. Geoff Toovey said the Raiders' numbers surprised him.

I agree we have a history of exaggerating our crowd numbers but 6k seemed about right to me.
Horrible crowd though, regardless of if it was 5k or 6k. Another example of why we need a new stadium in the city.

Re: Unfair to cast Smith as 'villain', says David Shillingto
To be clear, I don't think he's fabricating his feelings. Essentially the same comments from 60 minutes are in the book, so what I've said is that it is very deliberate that the book and report say what is said. It is not some mistake. It is not something 60 minutes tricked him into saying. He want...

Yes, it was. But I don't think even they'd argue that means all of their players are therefore immune from criticism for their comments/actions during the incident.

Sure he's probably bitter about what happened, I would be too if it left me in that situation Going to 60 minutes at the same time his book comes out seems a little convenient rather than coincidental to me I completely agree that the 60 minutes appearance was for publicity for his book - like a lo...

Re: Unfair to cast Smith as 'villain', says David Shillingto
60 minutes said it and edited it so it looked like McKinnon had been watching for 8 minutes. He then saw the final edit and agreed with it. That's a VERY long bow. 60 minutes said 'as Alex lay paralysed, and even 8 mins later when he (McKinnon) is carried off the ground, smith continued to argue Al...

Re: Unfair to cast Smith as 'villain', says David Shillingto
He could have made that point without blaming McKinnon for the tackle. Just say 'I think we should have received two penalties for dangerous tackles too - keep an eye out for it please' and leave it at that. Smith argues that it shouldn't be a penalty because McKinnon ducked his head. It doesn't mat...

RRA watch SBs footage, Smith didn't talk to the ref the whole time Alex was on the ground, when he was being stretchered off he spoke to him for about 30seconds not 8minutes as was claimed. Yeah that's what I was meaning. The claims from Alex are exaggerated Lets get one thing straight - Alex never...

I think McKinnon has the right to be as angry as he wants towards anyone he wants. Sure, 60 mins may have erred by not giving smith a chance to reply, but that's not mckinnons fault Personally, I think smith made a significant error in judgement in arguing about the penalty the way he did. It took t...

I wouldn't say no to tamou but I think our money can be better spent elsewhere. A gun centre who can strengthen our right edge defence would be nice.

I also think Hodgson needs to trust Cornish to be able to do the job. Will be interesting to see if Cornish becomes more involved when baptiste comes on given they've played a bit in Mounties. I just hope, particularly against the dragons defence, that Cornish is smarter about his kicking than in th...

I don't get all this rubbish about picking club combinations. It's never been something Queensland worried about for 8 straight. What ever happened to picking the best players in each position? Re: What if Austin gets a bench spot in the Blues team?
I tend to disagree with the roar article. I think he's been reading too much of the press around Austin than his play. Austin's been great the last two weeks, but I don't think he's been in that form for long enough to justify an origin halves spot. Maybe bench, but I think even that's a stretch. I...

Re: Canberra Raiders next target: James Tamou
Most people progressively earn more throughout their career as they become more experienced. Professional footy players are in the unusual situation where the vast majority will need to take enormous pay cuts in their early 30s (for those lucky enough to play into their 30s). So the smart ones will ...
