Re: Nick Cotric returns to Raiders on three year deal

Glad to have him back. Never happy about losing him. You don't lose talent like him you produced yourselves and that has its head screwed on right. Would like to see him tried in positions like centre or FB before consigning him to 'winger for life' status. Well done Ricky and Don Jr for getting him...

Re: The Boxing Thread

Plenty of good fighters to follow in the boxing this year. We've got someone decent in almost every division. Looking forward to announcements soon about who's next for Tim Tszyu, Justis Huni, Jai Opetaia and George Kambosos in particular. Big year coming up.

Re: POLL: Strongest 2022 line up: Fullback

CNK has done really well for us in the time he's been here but this is a position we need to strengthen to become a top side again. Full-back is (or should be) up for grabs. Cotric should be considered, particularly early in the year, while the young bloke (Savage) can come into the frame if he puts...

Ryan Sutton. Put no.10 on him, start him in that position and leave him there for the year. It ain't rocket science.

Cotric. I'd be trying to find a more significant role for him than stuck on a wing.

Some good shouts here for Luke Priddis and David Barnhill. Both were players we developed through the lower grades and let go to other clubs where they won comps (in the case of Priddis) and played in GFs (in the case of Barnhill). Both probably would have stayed if we prioritised them but we didn'...

The team with Croker and Sammy sucks - replace with Timoko and Matt Frawley I second that but Ricky's responsiveness to reality is like watching a glacier melt, very, very slow! Thirded. Very rough on Matt Frawley after an extremely controlled game. Fourthed - I thought the article about Jarrod con...

Very happy to hear this. I've been impressed with him every time I've seen him in first grade.

Which isn't often enough, unfortunately.

I'd pick him at right centre and leave him there. He and Valemei freshen up the three-quarters and give them a more potent, youthful look.

Pick some young blokes, ****. I can handle losing, even getting flogged, with a team full of young blokes who you know will improve from the experience. Picking 'mates' over young guys whose time has come is getting tiresome. Timoko not starting at right centre against the Titans was despicable stuf...

Really impressed with the young outside backs. They were fast, enthusiastic and threatening for the duration. Not picking Timoko before now is poor coaching based on that performance.

Milf for Hodgo before 30 June is a logical deal between them and us. Milf can also play FB so I'd do that deal. See if they want to trade TPJ for Joe Tapine also. Give us back the players we developed for them. Of course the players have to want to go along with it. These are the kinds of deals we s...

One poster wants to change b/c it's silly not counting the most important games of the season in the award. The fans are voting with their voices - the finals MUST count in the player of the year award. It's time to let go of the Loserville-era of the Raiders and to wave it goodbye. To give it the Craig Bellamy-Cameron Smith try-scoring salute. The dark days when we only ever fluked finals' appearances an...

It's become standard practice in the Loserville-era of the Raiders but it hasn't always been that way. The last time we won a premiership, player of the year was decided after the finals series. It was actually given to the guy who got rubbed out of the GF to compensate him for not playing. You can ...

It's not all gloom and doom. I don't think we're going to win the comp this year and no knee reconstruction is a damn side better than the alternative. The most important game of the season is the one this weekend. If we win, there will be an even more important one after that. George's missing vote should have stayed lost. He's had an excellent first season in the NRL and is a great fit for our side but he's not the player of the year. I like the look of all three. You can see why we made the Jersey Flegg GF last year with them in the side. 1. The thing is Elliott has been around long enough to have already been given the captaincy, including when Hodgo got it. Makes it a bit odd to do it now. I’m interested in this, Sleek. I certainly see the captaincy qualities in Elliott and am a massive fan. Two questions though: 1) Don’t you think it would be a huge deal to take the captaincy off Hodgo and particularly Croker? 2) When did we do it before? 1. No. The captaincy is a privilege, not a r...

I think Big Papa is related to Alex Leapai who fought Wladimir Klitschko for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the World. He's a first cousin I think.

So I reckon he'd go okay. Leapai was noted for his punching power and toughness. I reckon Big Papa would pack a wallop.
