I’m with Billy on the this new stadium idea “is probably the worst”.

That’s right Finchy.
You can have 1 weak member in Spine positions but more than that and you start to Struggle.

Re: 2024 Rd 1 v Knights: Teams and Previews
For Strange’s long term development a stint at left half might be very good for him. Both Cronk and Thurston played a bit out of position early and I think it helped them later in their career.

I think Woolford should be getting the starting hooker for game 1. But he didn’t do himself any favours yesterday with some lazy efforts.

The match review committee are probably feeling a little guilty after the very dodgy and incredibly inconsistent Horsburgh charge.

I think Saulo was the best of our lesser name players over the two trials.
Some promising stuff from Strange today too.
All in all, I’d score us a B for our trial performances, which is better than I can remember for a while.

None of our hookers have been good today. Poor service from Levi and too much lazy play from Woolford.

Re: 2024 Trial 2 v Cowboys: Teams and Game Day *Teams p1*
I’d like more of our players to react a bit more excited on scoring tries. Too many refs and the bunker make their initial decisions based on the reaction of the try scorer. Seb Kris a few times has been called no try live by the on field ref and on the replay it’s a clear try with one look by the ...

Let's see Ch9 try and ignore the 2024 Pre-Season Cup champions shall we!? I'd also imagine LL and Dave Fifita will be tripping over themselves for a mid season transfer -just for the chance to win some silverware. Canberra’s lax policing of driving under the influence might encourage LL to come her...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on signing a second-row target Luciano Leilua
Raiders also tried to do similar things to Storm in Brisbane by connecting with Logan and basing lower tier players there. NSW Rugby League stopped that by threatening to kick Canberra region out of NSW competitions. Rugby League is not a free market like many think. Powerbrokers and powerful clubs ...

Re: Raiders star Corey Harawira-Naera cleared for return months after suffering on-field seizure
Firstly this is great news for CHN and the Raiders club. On a secondary note. A friend’s relative was physically electric shocked when a lady with an inbuilt pacemaker and defribullator collapsed on him on a walk. I don’t believe he was badly injured but it obviously caused a scare and an issue. See...

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders injury/suspension update
Based on the NRL’s new interpretation for suspensions we better start naming Corey Horsburgh in the NRL first 17 on Team List Tuesday or he’ll never use up his suspended weeks. I can hear another convoluted and stage managed Annesley media conference “well we just didn’t know if Ricky was going to n...

Bluesbrother. When you Luciano Leluia is an absolute wrecking ball.
I presume you are saying he plays like Miley Cyrus.
I’d put LL in the occasional Sledgehammer description, not an absolute wrecking ball.

Plenty of very promising young spine players have lost their way by being exposed to the rigours and stressors of NRL a bit too early ...

Yeah that was an interesting point by Keiran Perkins on radio during the week who highlighted that the MCG can line up twenty trains and take 30,000 people in the first 20-30 minutes. Light rail to Bruce might move 2000 in the same time period.

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
We're not moving them in and out in a 30-60 minute period. People will park in a range of places over the city and walk over. There are a heap of ways in and out of Civic. 30,000 people in cars aren't going to descend on Constitution Avenue. There'd be much less congestion than at the current stadi...

Yeah Levi was good tonight.
The issue is he looks good in the second tier but never seems to transfer it to NRL level.
I’m pretty sure it will be Woolford Starling round 1.

There’s over 20,000 carapaces around Civic and over 5000 in the Canberra Centre alone. A 30,000 crowd won’t be an issue for a Sports Stadium that will never be built in that area anyway.

I think Mooney and his manager are after a bigger contract. Which might open up depending on Papa’s career timeline.
Saulo will have signed a lower level deal.

For the people wrapping Strange’s defence did they not see the misses, getting pushed off too easily, not locking in with his inside defender and some poor positioning. Couple little early concerns from me Strange’s defence.
More just a young guy thing than anything major. These are the challenges for having young halves in first grade.
