Re: Galea moves to greener pastures

I for one would like to see him (Galea) playing in the centres now. Clearly we have plenty of our outside backs injured and with Croker, Vidot, J Thompson, Robinson, Dugan (likely 1 - 5) we have less then 100 FG games between the lot. Galea has plenty of experience and has played plenty of centre. I...

Re: Figure this out...

Hmmmm Thats a great idea. The same principles could be applied to practically anywhere. The fact is if there is no other way to see the games in a country or region and there is no provider paying for the rights in that region, why not give the rights away. At least if you give them away you have a ...

Re: Raiders in Phil Rothfield's top 50

Tongue is at his best when he plays lock, he can lurk around the middle and be johnny on the spot for the short ball or little kick. I would hope that Waddell will start playing the full 80 mins at hooker some time early in the season. Let Tonguey go back to being a defensive rock and a nice little ...

Re: 2010 Trial 3 V Bulldogs: Teams, Previews and Game Day

It seems from the reports that we definately have one of the better forward packs. We have depth, skill and mobility. Yet we have no backs. Injuries, poor defence and poor execution thus far. Is it too crazy an option to move JT and Galea in the centres and stick with just Croker and Vidot on the wi...

Re: Hagan Joins the Raiders?

To me this is a pretty good idea by the Raiders. I think if Furnsy is going to be a good coach he needs an experienced Mentor. An a side note. I wonder if we get rid of Kelly, Herbert, McCrone and Buttriss if we could afford a decent offer for Soward. He is a local Jnr which hopefully means he might...

Hagan joins the Raiders?

Furner has Hagan on side to aid Raiders MICHAEL HAGAN has made a return to the coaching ranks with Canberra. The Sun-Herald can reveal that Raiders coach David Furner has enlisted the former Newcastle and Parramatta mentor as a consultant for the upcoming season. ''I'm working with him from time to...

Re: Mythbusters

I think Lincoln Withers was a silly release. He was Allen Tongue other half in defence in in the middle. In return we kept Buttriss who turned out to be pretty poor. I am also a little bit 50/50 on if we might have been better served trying to sign Carney back on a cheap deal when he went North. I h...

Re: Figure this out...

Of course on field performance is going to have the biggest impact on crowd numbers. Everyone loves to get behind a winning team. Yet other teams and other sports are able to attract healthy crowds, big membership numbers, and cash even when performance is down. The idea of a sit down forum is great...

Re: Figure this out...

I believe the idea of a youtube channel would be out, as the NRL has the contract with BigPond to put all NRL highlights on that. But good to see a lot of ideas. That's why I think the club would do well to have a Members Forum, at least once a year. Get the input of the fans. Where would the Raide...

Re: Figure this out...

I'm sure we wouldn't be allowed this, but a youtube channel like this would be awesome. Show fans about the history with a wide range of videos and the current content that is on raiders.com.au http://www.youtube.com/brumbiesmediacentre#p/u/5/ky7jG2QluMU Although that comp failed it's a great ad. Re: Figure this out...

@bipolar bear I think what Gerg and myself are saying is what they have now is not working. If the major reason for memberships is to offer incentives and encourage more people to go to the game then it is not working. The golden rule in business is know what the customer wants and deliver it. Judgi...

(This is my first post. I live in Bangkok but grew up in Canberra and I have been a raiders fan for as long as I can remember) I am not sure how the Raiders expect to trot out basically the same membership packages every year with basically the same marketing strategies every year yet seem surpised...
