Re: 2013 Rd 24 V Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews *Team p1*
Someone mentioned vaughan had played 2nd row in 20's before I think, can you tell me, was he a busy player, did he get lots of minutes etc? Actually tempted to bring him into my fantasy team as a sneaky point of difference.

Re: Let's get innovative as a club
Firstly, you're spending much too much time on Reddit. I suspect that many clubs actually run this way. There is a 'head coach' but in reality the team of coaches (head coach and assistants) work far more in partnership than it may appear in the media. I don't ever read Reddit so i don't understand...

Re: Let's get innovative as a club
:S It wasn't meant to be entirely about a coach, i just thought that was a good starting point. Another example, let's employ a full time marketing executive (apologies if we already have one). First job, could be looking into how we can get our games broadcast in China or other markets (India perha...

Let's get innovative as a club
With Dave Furner now sacked, and the club looking for a new coach, plenty of people are talking about a fresh start. Without derailing the thread into yet another argument about who should or shouldn't be following Dave out the door, i thought we could spitball innovative ideas for this fresh start....

Losing the ruck
Why is it, this team of ours often runs one out forward hit ups, it infuriates me to no end. I remember rd14 this year, we were playing the Panthers, and our whole pack seemed to find this variation in their game that i'd never seen before. Suddenly we had forwards taking the line on in pairs, putti...

Re: Defensive halves
Thanks all, this was the sort of info i'm after, his attitude in defence really. As someone else pointed out in a discussion between McCrone and Williams, stats can sometimes be misleading so its tough to judge a player by that. I think as long as they have the right attitude, go in agressive to tac...

Re: 2014 Team and options
Personally I'd like to see something more like this next year depending on availability obviously (as some won't be here and some will guaranteed be injured) 1 - Milford 2 - Ahearn (He could be eased into FG this way in prep for 2015) 3 - Croker 4 - Ferguson 5 - Lee 6 - Wighton 7 - Cornish 8 - Shill...

Re: Defensive halves
But what is Cornish like defensively? Ive heard he has all the right skills in attack, ive just never heard him talked about in defence. Could you compare him to a current nrl half as a point of refference for those who don't get to see him please?

Defensive halves
So, after watching Williams, and having seen the efforts of Campese since he has returned from injury, I'm now of the opinion that i can't stand to see a defensively weak half in the Green anymore. I know a lot of teams carry them, and i don't expect a Fensom with the playmaking abilities of Cronk/T...

Re: Raider Joel making a difference
It's sad to see Joel go, and he will definitely be missed. One of the things i like most about JT is his attitude, you can honestly tell he hates to lose. Not only that, but he seems to put in off the field, sticking round to see fans after a game, or helping out under privileged kids etc. It's funn...

Re: 2013 Rd 23 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews *Team p1*
Personally, I'd like to see Wighton given a run a 5/8 with RR or Sami slotting onto his wing. I don't buy into the calls that Croker isn't a center. To me he seems like the type of player who likes to play percentage football, and often tends to cut back in and hold it rather than risking a pass. Ho...

Re: Early start on Saturday
Arghhh. I've just moved to the UK and these early games are killing me. The storm game meant I had to be up at 5... and a domestic in the street by my window bumped that to 4am instead. Top it all off with that performance and the fact it was too early to start drinking.... God I hope we get a win t...

Re: Canberra Raiders assistant says he'll apply for Cowboys
Dunemann would be good for the Cowboys if he got the job. Being greedy, i hope we keep him, however he did a great Job with the Pride and wouldn't be out of place in head coaching role. Good luck to him if he gets it, might even see a bit more of the NQ talent actually playing for the cowboys if so....

Ill say it again, congratulations qld on the victory. Re: 2013 State of Origin III: New South Wales V Queensland
Firstly: Well played NSW, i think with different halves, Fergo and Hayne in the team, that game MIGHT have had a different result. Your team played pretty well across the park with the backs doing a good job of scooting out around the ruck, and Farah guiding the team around nicely. As always your pa...

Thanks for the links fellas, but I've got to say this is the most excruciating way of watching a game of footy, clicking x's waiting for advertisements to disappear and then getting about 5 seconds of visual for every 10 minutes you miss. Re: 2013 Rd 14 V Panthers: Game Day and Post Match
Just started travelling around eastern Europe so I've only just been able to sit down and watch the game. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the variety our forwards used in their hit-ups. Whoever has been working with them recently deserves a big pat on the back. Maybe i just noticed it mor...

Yeah, all his little runs add up but it's not so obvious from just watching the game.. it's one of the reasons why I like checking out the game stats - can see who's putting in the extra efforts, which sometimes doesnt get noticed. I gotta admit, there's sometimes when I finish watching a game thin...

Re: Glenn Buttriss - the bell tolls for thee
To be honest, i think the biggest factor in the decision of who plays in our 9, should be Campo. As someone who played hooker all of their junior footy (i know its only juniors) it's a hell of a lot easier playing in a team that's on the front foot from a strong kicking game with clear leadership an...

THIS, take club or state rivalry out of it, the above sums up just how much of a joke this decision was.greeneyed wrote: Both were better players than Johns. Johns is a Sydney media beat up, and benefits from human behaviour, which is to remember the thing that happened in the last five minutes more vividly.
