Re: 2024 NRL Round 5: Teams and Game Day

Wanting to bring back a hard voluntary tackle rule is such a peak 'old man yells at clouds' issue that i cant even be mad at people about it. After some thought about it, i didn't like the tactic to bomb on the try line, pile numbers in and force a drop out, I didn't like that it resulted in players...

Expect a Donta Smith extension to come soon.
Eagles have an absurd amount of cap space right now. Wondering if they're trying to roll over a lot next year when the cap is a little tighter than they're used to

That’s what I mean! It seems like he loves the club, he is the best player in cup… what’s the bloody issue!?!? There’s a small part of me that thinks it’s age related and just trying to perfect his game in cup in preparation for a long career but even then, I don’t completely get the logic - mere o...

What the hell? How was that tackle completed?!? Agree but that's how the game is Last week a player surrendered , no one touched him and ref told him to play it. It's become a joke It shouldn’t happen. They should be penalised. I dont know that we need the voluntary tackle rule back as such, though...

If we wanted to keep him 1,000,000 per cent, why is he off contract? Why wasn’t he signed up before he was off contract. We saw Trey’s dad coming on The GH Facebook page in last week or so… and basically he doesn’t know what else Trey has to do to get a run in firsts. Which suggests Trey doesn’t kn...

So is Lomax , he has been released at end of year Well yeah, it doesn’t make a heap of sense then. The article does say they agreed to a termination but then that he cant move for less because he is contracted. I’d guess the article might be wrong. I think it's part of the NRL salary cap rules now ...

Of course we want to keep him It’s never been in question for me that we want to keep him The question is can we achieve that given the pathway we’ve presented to him thus far? I have my doubts. But I’m I think he’s got superstar potential and we should do whatever it takes to keep him. Including pr...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

$500k is not that much in the context of an $11.6M salary cap. I know there are a few intricacies to the cap so it's not as simple as $11.6m/30 = $387k, but I would argue that any player who is clearly top 13 should be worth $500k +/-. Benchies should generally be worth less on average and then sal...

Well Turuva first made a household name for himself playing fullback for Fiji and it's his preferred position so I don't think he needs to be "converted". I also don't think 21yo premiership winning fullbacks who can also kill it on the wing are a dime a dozen. Besides, we currently have ...

To add to the above, what I can't understand is why we aren't developing Puru for that hooker/lock hybrid 14 role. That incident was popping off on my group chats
I was too annoyed at the level of football we were playing to be too concerned about it in the moment but I think it’s a fair complaint

Trainer has no business being in a position where he could adversely impact the goal kicker
