Coaching issues
So I had a very interesting chat on Monday with a Panthers player. I won’t name names, however this is what he said in summary. The Panthers had their toughest and hardest pre-season ever since he had been at the club. Last year the coaching staff identified the speed change in the game early and ad...

Re: Canberra Raiders won't be signing Sharks half Shaun Johnson
As every off contract half in the game gets signed, our chances for a 2022 become even more dire.

Yep GreenMachine a new coach is exactly where we need to start.
What I don’t get though is how tight on the cap we are! Papa is our best player and he is on $650k per season, so who is chewing up all this cap space

We need an organising half that plays right side! This is not the answer

I think last nights game (SOO) really showed how much we have been left behind. Grinding defensive games played out by forwards is outdated. Backline speed and attack is now the way!

Stuart has no choice but to move him on here. He is trying to reestablish the culture again and by retaining Scott would be a bad signal to the group

Probably some mate side deal with Bellamy. We only go after Storm rejects and not the good onesWiki Special wrote:I'm happy to take a flyer on Dufty but I'm still baffled we didn't appear to go harder for Nicho Hynes

Matt Dufty... yes please
You don't want your FB tackling. And if we are that worried about it, as others have said, switch CNK and Dufty defense/attack at FB depending on tackles and position etc. Also, he did manage to play a big part in holding TPJ up last night from close range. So he isnt totally incompetent. If he giv...

Re: Matt Dufty... yes please
It’s really simple. The game is now tilted to attack over defence.
CNK is a defensive fullback, Dufty is an attacking fullback. Dufty is the logical choice.

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly interested in Sharks half Shaun Johnson
Would a Johnson + Dufty combo deal give us the spark we need? Both players have their cons but also provide an x factor we are sorely missing. We blood some young guys as well and 2022 could look a little more optimistic. Yes, they would be both a good signing for us. People forget just how undesir...

SPOTTED On the way to the Roosters-Raiders game in Gosford, Roosters assistant coach Craig Fitzgibbon stopped for lunch at the Kincumber Hotel. He sat there chatting to Melbourne Storm star Nicho Hynes, his dad and his manager. Fitzy replied “no comment” when we contacted him. Away from footy, Hynes...

Yep agree. These ratings reflects the coaches view in that we were unlucky and didn’t get the bounce of the ball. They were terrible last night, even more than the othersgangrenous wrote:Relatively they’re pretty right, just need to take a point off everybody.

Have the Fox League commentary team looked at the Raiders' list of OUTS? I've heard at length about the Roosters' list of outs... but no mention of the Raiders. It's not an excuse, but it is annoying how one sided the commentary is at times. Are some of our outs genuine outs really? Do we believe t...

So what do we think Ricky will say in the presser? Didn’t get the bounce of the ball? Some individual efforts weren’t up to standard? unlucky? Radley, Smith, Brown, Yeo, Murray... all these are examples of what the 13 role is becoming... They may not wear 13 on their backs, they may not start in that role, but as the game progresses they end up playing that role... Hodgson can develop in this role...as can Wighton if we choose... I usually think this forum overreacts and becomes doomsayers, but honestly I agree with the sentiment this weekend. Our camp screams disharmony, playing horrendous footy and still missing two of our most important players. Roosters coming off a bad loss where they didn't honour a club legend. They ...
