Re: Canberra Raiders co-captain Jarrod Croker eyes round one return
We currently have two centres in the squad for a tier 1 national team.
If we were to lose either of them - or HSS - to give Croker a last hurrah, I think that is a poor footballing decision.

Wouldn’t mind having him in the #9.

I would just love to see how this logic would be played out on other sports around the world. 'Sorry Crystal Palace, you can't play Manchester United at Selhurst Park - think about the 30,000 people who would miss out'. 'Sorry Australian cricket team, you can't play that ODI at Manuka Oval - The MCG...

Well, there goes any chance of the 8. I'm actually glad. We don't deserve it. Apparently we deserve a coach who wants to be friends with everyone and is too gutless to cut players and make hard decisions. Not rolling over my membership anymore. Enough is enough. Join the club. We looked the goods then Whitehead killed the momentum and that was it. Penrith clicked and we never had a chance from there.
You can’t blame Whitehead for the loss, but he definitely started the rot.

I have accepted a tart-up of Bruce is all we are going to ever manage. The stadium remaining at Bruce also helps the cause of the light-rail, by arguing that its necessary to run to Belconnen via the stadium and arena. Given that's his pet project, I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do w...

I'd rather they spend a bit on Viking Park and make it into a usable ~12,000 seat venue and we play there for a year while they do the whole thing in one hit.
Playing in a building site would suck.

Yep, EPIC is obviously on the outskirts of the town centre so it could accommodate large scale and noisy events like music festivals, the Canberra Show and Summernats without disturbing the gentle folk of the inner suburbs. Seems entirely sensible to me. At the end of the day, people don't mind bei...

I am just baffled by the continued selection of an outside back on the bench who’ll be lucky to get five minutes on the pitch. Adam Elliot or CHN can cover centre in an emergency if there’s an injury. It’s absolutely mindbendingly idiotic to waste a bench spot every week in case we lose a back to in...

He has shown that he can handle the core responsibilities of being a FG hooker with a little bit of attacking flair in his dummy half runs, and he can play ~60 minutes without getting gassed. I agree that Starling is the one that starts to look a bit odd one out moving forward. If Trevelyan is comin...

The ARU are suggesting uncoupling from the Kiwis and having an Australian-only competition. That would probably drive unions crowds even lower to the point where Viking Park is probably the best fit for the Brumbies. The Waratahs are already waxing lyrical about how much they've enjoyed playing at L...

Frawley had some good moments - his monster touchfinder in the 78th got us the field position we needed to win - but there was also some vintage Josh McCrone in his play as well. Notably his kick in about the 36th minute that went out on the full by about ten metres put the Knights in position to fo...

It was pretty clear in that last 10-15 the boys had decided that we’d already won the game but the only question was by how much, so they were starting to roll the dice a bit.

I'm quite surprised by how good Woolford has been. I know he had massive wraps on him as a junior, but as a 25 year old who has been in the NSW Cup system for a while and bouncing from club-to-club, who started this season with us behind Hodgson, Starling, Trevelyian and Elliot at hooker, the fact h...
