Re: 2023 Pacific Championships Finals: Teams and Game Day
That was abysmal from Australia and Mal might be in big trouble trying to secure his contract extension after that. Tapine embarrassed the Aussie forward pack today. Off the top my head I can think of a good handful of questionable selections, whether it is personnel wise or positionally. Hynes, Ted...

Re: The Politics Thread 2023
It’s not the kindest possible interpretation. It is the interpretation any reasonable reader should arrive at.
It’s like someone saying that the country of China is an exponent of human rights abuse and interpreting that as them calling 1.4 billion Chinese citizens human rights abusers. Farcical.

Great point about media interviews.
So much cowardice. So many are so scared of their own shadow and afraid of being cancelled and/or called anti-Semitic or an apologist for terrorism.

Where are you getting those numbers from? Literally from a terrorist group who would obliterate the entire western world if it had the capability. The numbers are pretty widely reported by the likes of Al Jazeera. As far as I can see it doesn’t even appear that Israel is disputing the death toll.

Israel provides funding, weapons and training to both Hamas and Hezbollah. It’s also in their best interests for the normalisation in relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel (which was just about to happen) to fall down (as it now has). The attack on Israel was in Iran’s best interests by militia...

I think Iran is the key here. Israel can probably deal with skirmishes from Hamas, Hezbollah and Syria but if Iran gets involved this seriously risks escalating into a far wider conflict. It is one thing for the US to not put boots on the ground in Ukraine but I doubt they would limit their support ...

Is a good pod. I'd say the most important thing to understand about the conflict is that if the positions were reversed and Hammas/Palestine had the more powerful army... then Israel would not exist.
