Re: 2013 State of Play: Canberra Raiders

Marker defence, and defence 10m from our own goal line (there's been few occasions we've held teams out from so close a range) our are two biggest defensive problems. Improvements to our kicking game alone won't have a huge improvement on these two issues. The way I see it we need to be mentally tou...

Re: Campese to miss first three matches of 2013

I just want a Captain who will be on the field for 80 minutes most games of the year. Campo is the best leader we have at the club. J-Mac or Fenno should be next.

Re: The 2013 Greenhouse Team: Centres

I think Reece is a bit more than a fairly average winger. He's fairly quick, strong, always reliable, safe under the high ball, and an excellent finisher - that consolation try in our first match against the Sharks is an example. Plus later in the season he was drifting in-field a bit more, getting ...

Re: The 2013 Greenhouse Team: Centres

Id sooner have Wighton and Fergo at centre, with Earl and Croker on the wing, but i know that wont happen, so happy for now to see Toots at centre, he cops far more than he deserve, i still think he's a future SOO player. Hard to remember J.Croker is still only 22 Wigton and Fergattack in the centr...

Re: 2012 in Review: Sam Williams

In the first half of this year there were times when he did not look up to first grade standard. Full credit to him though. He handled himself well when he was dropped from the side, and improved on his game phenomenally. He looked a completely different player when he returned. So long as he is con...

Right, I have a serious question for all of you supporters that allow your mood to be affected adversely by a game of rugby league... How do you handle real stress in you lives? Relationships, job, financial, family etc... If the result of 22 blokes running around on an oval is enough to potentiall...

Re: McCrone to hooker

Just me being a smart-arse :P In all seriousness though the first half of your post I failed to see the reason in. Even in the first half of 2012 we were scoring points and looked threatening with ball in hand. But apparently the number of points we score has little to do with how strong our attack ...

Gosh, I could talk about this for hours. It's funny how I remember both games you talked about in a similar way to you. I too should have stayed home that ill fated night. Re: Raiders you are excited about in 2013

I've been watching some of our wins from this year and I am excited about McIlwrick. His running was really sharp, his defence was great. His passing was not always the best, however. I'm also hoping McCrone (surprise) will step up once again in the face of the immense competition he is now facing, ...

Re: Blake Ferguson fined $5,000 over Foreshore incident

 In my opinion though every team needs a Fergo. Every team needs that arrogant, sort of egotistic player, who can rev up the crowd, and who people pay to see. I love Fergo for this role he plays on the field. He is like our own Kanye West. Off the field, however, I can't excuse his behaviour. A...

Re: Papalii re-signing hits cap impasse

Exactly, both Fensom and Papalii are absolutely crucial. Fensom gives our defence some guts and consistently does the hard yards, whilst Papalii gives our team that 'X-factor' and has the ability to turn a game on its head. Thompson who is a great hole-runner then rounds out one of the best back row...

I'd love to see Campo kill it for the next few seasons. He's still got it in him and the Tigers game was proof of that. Hopefully his knee holds up, that's all. There's no point giving a rating because there's not a lot there to consider. Best of luck Campo.

Re: 2012 in Review: Sandor Earl

I thought as far as genuine wing play goes he was fantastic. Defensively a bit sketchy at times, but I think a lot of the time he was hung out to dry by his inside men. He was great defending kicks, attacking kicks, making metres out of his own end, made almost no mistakes - what more can you ask f...

Re: 2012 in Review: Sandor Earl

The offensive partnership the Dor has struck up with Fergy is important. It's great to watch, and has the potential to attract many fans next year and beyond. As to the Dor's off-field behaviour, I think people may be exaggerating this single Foreshore incident. I'm not assuming Sandor's an angel, b...

Re: Claims bottle thrown from Raiders star's apartment

Well, to me the article is pretty vague, and provides no strong evidence that it was Thompson or a Raiders player who threw the bottle. The article even says it was allegedly thrown from his apartment, we don't know for sure. That's not being biased or 'green-eyed' that's just reading the article an...
