Re: 2011 State of Origin III
He is more than entitled to defend himself against personal attacks but what he has done is given a spray of personal attacks against a gammut of people who have in no way wronged him. It's hypocritical to say the least and has reinforced the notion that qlders are a pack of sooks.

Re: Through green eyes: Meninga next in line
The media reports imply Mal is upset with Ricky but don't really say why. Mal has been a master of using the media throughout his reign as coach. Sticky has said a lot of things this series but none were slights against Mal or the QLD team. Seems to me Mal is being a bit hypocritical and a tad preci...

I've read a lot of media reports but I've failed to come across Ricky defaming Mal anywhere. Help me out.

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
Well flicking through the Game I thread, there were plenty of posts complaining about the clangers the refs had in that game, but I didn't see any from a NSW fan attributing the NSW loss to the refs (it is a long thread though). I did however find this post: The refs nearly cost us the match with so...

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
You can say what you like about the judiciary system GE, the implication was that it is deliberately biased against QLD. As for the refereeing, well they made some clangers in Game I as oppossed to the subjective ruck policing QLDers were complaining about in Game II. They/we may have complained abo...

Re: Through green eyes: Meninga next in line
Not really. Though I'm disappointed with him fuelling QLD paranoia, Mal had every right to defend himself against allegations about his coaching. All three of the nominated have their off-field demons, this is about onfield achievements.

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
How so? Did not the QLD media and every literate QLDer come out between Game II and III and accuse the match review committee, judiciary, referrees and pretty much anyone connected with the game, no matter how remote, of NSW bias? Was it a coincidence that this whingefest came after the realisation ...

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
The way this whole series has played out in the media has quite frankly left a bad taste in my mouth and turned me off origin a bit. It really all blew up after the second game when QLD lost. Reports from north of the border then accused NSW of everything from the JFK assassination to the haulocaust...

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
Wow, Mal has managed to alienate at least three Raiders greats. Obviously Sticky, reportedly Loz and as part of the match review committee Brad Clyde is considered legal action against him.
Not his finest hour.

Re: 2011 State of Origin III
Mal is a top bloke. I'm disappointed about him carrying on like the world is out to get QLD, but he has every right to be pissed about articles like the Rothfield one above that call his coaching into question.

I love the guy GS, but the way he carried on the whole "NRL has an agenda against us" hysteria instigated by the QLD media is disappointing. He does have every right to be upset about the NSW media questioning his credentials though.

Re: 2011 Rd 18 V Sharks: Game Day and Post Match
Skill level had nothing to do with that result. It all came down to school boy errors. They were endemic and often committed by senior players. Errors did not allow us to maintain pressure on the sharks. Errors coming off our own line cost us points. Simply put we didn't turn up to play. Some teams...

Re: The Union Thread
The Courier Mail comparing the Brisbane flood to the Christchurch earthquake in the lead up to this game is pretty offensive. Why so? (no offense meant), genuinely interested in what makes one natural disaster worse than another- lives lost, financial lost, damaged caused? Pretty much all of that m...

Re: Through green eyes: Meninga next in line
I really don't like how they drag Johns' off field problems into it. Firstly they list depression as an indiscretion which is disgraceful. Secondly Lockyer is not without his public gaffs - the raper joke at a formal function comes to mind, as does his assaulting a bouncer. Mal was also up on assaul...

Re: Re: 2011 Rd 18 V Sharks: Game Day and Post Match
That was the season on the line and the performance was disgraceful, not least from the leaders of the team. I feel let down by the team and coaches. There is something that seriously needs to be fixed at the Canberra Raiders. I don't know what it is, but an independent inquiry is an absolute neces...

Mal for mine.
Johns dominated Lockyer in the rep arena.
Just because a person hasn't admitted /been caught taking recreational drugs doesn't mean they haven't /don't. You should be careful of your constant criticism of Johns on this GE, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

Re: 2012 State of Origin
It all comes down to ball control. QLD did it well, we did not. We made more line breaks and had fewer mistakes but still lost. We certainly have the firepower to match them. The game may well have turned out differently if not for a few vital moments in the first half. Morris' dropped ball after hi...

Bogan is not a derogatory term IMO Considering you and I are self proclaimed bogans, our opinions aren't valid on this subject. Trying to introduce a little class up here mate but it's a struggle. The sad thing about the 6peat is so very few qlders can count to 6, except maybe those with an extra digit on their hand, so I guess about 10-20% of the population.
