Re: 2022 New halfback?
There are a lot of average ones right now. Why is it? Are they overcoached from a young age and lose their creativity? Or do we just expect too much now (that they do all of running, short and long kicking, passing, tackling)? I noticed Penrith have a "Playmaker's Academy". With all of Cl...

CNK and Frawley on the bench.
Unless the plan is to introduce CNK at centre and push Kris up front, the bench management is going to be disaster waiting to happen.

Re: Our recruitment and retention
Some of the retention calls have not proved great, but you have to weigh that against the impact of instability, lack of leadership and players concerned about being moved on.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but you have to look at the bigger picture.

Re: Canberra Raiders linked to Ash Taylor on cut price deal
It's hard to get too excited about an 18 year old with less than 10 games but can you describe what he brings? Ball runner, passing game, defence, kicking game etc Sent from my Pixel 4a (5G) using Tapatalk Of course. I'm not realistically suggesting the Raiders should sign him for now. I've seen hi...

Re: Canberra Raiders linked to Ash Taylor on cut price deal
I thought we were looking in England for potential halves. Mr Posh - what is your view of Theo Fages the St Helens half back? Back on topic, Ash Taylor is being punted by his current club. His manager is looking at a deal worth 25-30% of his current contract due to his form over an extended period....

Well, I love Matthew Elliott.

Massively under achieved at Warrington, but he's not the first to do that.
They can't wait to see the back of him.

You only sign Benji if there's a young half a year away from being ready.
Fills a time gap and they get to learn from one of the greats. It's a win win.

George Williams making his Warrington debut right now - partnering Blake Austin in the halves.
Austin will be surplus to requirements at Wire and Leeds are reputedly looking to sign him. Where he would partner Aiden Sezer in 2022.

Re: Coronavirus
I haven't really followed this in Aus. How are you only at 12% vaccinated after eight months? We have done this tougher than most (in the developed world) and one thing is certain - the only thing that stops this is vaccination. Lock downs can slow it, so that healthcare resources can be managed, bu...

Feeling over here is that it will go ahead and that Australia and New Zealand will fall back in line. I hope so, because 2022 just won't work - unless it's in the middle summer and the NRL and SL seasons take a long break. The Covid numbers that have been cited in the withdrawal email are a bit of ...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021
I have decided the answer to the half back problem is Arthur Mourgue at Catalans. Plays 1, 6 or 7 and has been learning all the tricks from Jimmy Maloney. Good runner, nice passing game, very stiff tackler and a deadly goal kicker. Only problem is, the South of France ain't no Wigan when it comes t...

Frawley wasn't good enough for Huddersfield - a mid to low ranking Super League side.
You might argue that's the level some Raiders performances have been this year, but I don't think we should aim for that.

Relieved, probably.
A centre is one thing, but you can't throw a young half into this garbage. It would destroy him.

Interestingly I looked on the Wigan Warriors facebook after news broke that Georgey Boy wouldn't be going back there. They didn't seem to care that much, weren't all that fussed about him. "He did well at Canberra because he had good players around him" Yeah, that's mainly because they're...

Been having a look at Warrington forum. They’re saying Widdop has been playing well and they’d rather keep him than gain GW who they think has signed or about to. Give Widdop a year and it gives us breathing space… I'd take that with a pinch of salt. What works regularly in the ESL doesn't work her...

If the youngsters are in the system, then the best teacher/role model is the one to go for - if you're going to have a short term 'bridge'. I speak with no knowledge here, but Widdop seems the best fit for that. Has more of a conventional game, too - I can't imagine it would be all that easy of Shau...

Hmmm thats an interesting option. I wouldnt mind it at all. Not idea how he's travelled over in the ESL since leaving but always thought he was a pretty handy footballer when he was in the NRL Edit: he's 32 though, so that's not ideal. Maybe a bandaid solution to give us time to find a longer term ...
