Re: Jack Wighton pleads guilty to assault charges

How do we know these guys didn't have psychic powers and were assaulting Jack with their mind? His only way to retain his sanity may have been to attack their head... You weren't there you just don't know for sure

Less effort than the "it's coming home" memes. Up your game boys, I don't want this one sided nature of posting to get tiresome!

Re: 2018 Rd 17 V Bulldogs: Game Day

So we put Paulo on at the 32m mark? Our bench utilisation seems insane still. Considering how terrible we were in defence what were we waiting for? Not able to watch live but nrl.com has it at 29min. Which incidentally isn't that different to last week where he was on at I think 27min and then went...

Re: Jack Wighton pleads guilty to assault charges

Yeah I've got no place for that behaviour or those actions in the club that I love and regardless of whether its backed up by the nrl or goes on to "hurt us" we should only care about what we are willing to accept as a club. Attacking people unprovoked on a night out shouldn't be one of those things...

Jack's has decent defensive stats. That's about all we need with the occasional try assist if Hodgo is fit.
Splitting hairs but I'd take any kind of kicking game over try assists with the quality of edges we have. Other than that, agreed.

Yep, but don't confuse the metaphor, it's not that we have some unstoppable momentum taking us into the finals, it's that there is a cliff ahead and it doesn't look like we even want to miss it

Re: Is Croker the right captain for the team

I think a better analogy is that the car is running rough. It needs a new set of sparkplugs and the injectors to be cleaned out, and a new oil filter wouldn't hurt either, but the already-clean air filter does not need replacing. Its an ACTION bus. You dont get to choose the driver You dont get to ...

Re: Is Croker the right captain for the team

Some people must really rate Cordner. Captain of the blues team who came back from a deficit and held there composure with a man down.
I personally thought it was guys like Maloney who were responsible for that aspect, but each to their own.

- middle of park closer to refs ear - hodgo is far more well known to nrl fans than croker, often referred to as our captain by other teams fans anyway It sets the tone that this is josh hodgsons team. Re: Is Croker the right captain for the team

Interesting that people think good on field leadership is no longer necessary. Nobody has said this. On field leadership isn't the sole domain of a captain. Just like the captains job isn't solely focused on on field leadership (as some of the examples mentioned show, they can in fact show 0 leader...

Eh I don't mind so much. Ricky seems incredibly unwilling to make a change and as I said before the presser looked like he was hinting that Austin would be dropped due to his defense. That it was only a bench demotion sucks, but a man in the desert, baby steps and all that.

I like the thinking tw and gangers but I'm not sure we can afford the whole team for the $150 we've got left in the cap, as it stands someone is going to have to smuggle them over or have them pay for their own flights. Completely agree Red, Chambers and half the qld pack (Hess, Wallace etc) are only there because they've earnt it from such strong performances lately. Otherwise we would have made the same 6-8 changes per game we made fun of nsw for doing. I just didn't want to admit it to myself and was hurt when t...

Re: 2018 State of Origin III: Queensland V New South Wales

I think it's more a case that whenever qld mentioned it, it hurt a little, so they jump the gun at trying to throw it back (although funny enough more often than not it was actually nsw pointing at qld and saying why aren't we like that). Don't get me wrong, I understand the frustration, I got the *...

Schifty - yep, I would have taken ten weeks for sure. I’ve heard the footage is nasty. That was a very serious crime too but the two players’ consequences don’t seem to match. And, in ...

To be fair, 10 weeks is almost half a season so in that sense you sorta are talking about months. I mean it means he wouldn't be playing footy from July 2018 till what march 2019? A lot can happen in that time, we could find success with another fb and suddenly Jack is fighting to get back into the ...

Bit rough I think, Stuart is always loathe to say anything at all bad about the players in those press conferences and it's what makes them so frustrating to watch for fans, myself included.
