Re: Brisbane Broncos 2020

I think this has a chance... maybe not a huge one... but a chance to be worse than the Seibold era Im pumped about seeing the broncos continued demise Some high quality assistant coaches might help make it work. Kevvie can do the media work and a few prematch speeches. Leave the rest to the brains ...

It’s stupid how much we wear an away strip

2020 Grand Final

I think, in this year of limited tickets, it makes even less sense to release early. Think about it. We got 50,000+ Raiders fans travelling up that highway last year. If we could make the GF again, even allowing for those who won't/can't go to due to plague concerns, we could easily, easily fill ha...

Is Ricky Stuart's Raiders rebuild complete?

Further to that, the job is clearly never complete. In 2020 we have 6 key players who are 30 or older - Croker, Hodgson, Whitehead, Soliola, Rapana and Lui. The team is on the verge of another refresh. That’s called natural squad turnover, that’s not part of a rebuild as such. The rebuild was finis...

Incredible tie in 2020 Canberra Raiders Fans' Choice Player of the Year

I hate to say it, but I agree with Sleek here too. The reason awards like the Dally M’s finish after the regular season is that teams all play different amounts of games, so you can’t have finals included. Our awards should count finals as well as home and away, it actually makes no sense to do it t...

I’m not concerned about this game but I am worried that the eels leapfrogging the roosters has scuppered our chances somewhat

Our Finals Week 2 is now infinitely harder, which makes the whole four weeks a lot tougher. Would’ve been delicious to start with sharks and then eels

2020 NRL Round 20: Teams and Game Day

Seems like Storm vs Panthers is a lock. Wouldn’t be so sure. Whoever wins out of Panthers and Roosters will have the easiest run to the grand final. Storm will more than likely play the loser of panthers/roosters or the raiders. In my opinion that’s a much harder prelim, although they’ll have the c...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart's Raiders rebuild complete?

It is hard to know exactly when or what specific event triggered such, but somewhere along the way the Raiders became "cool" again. It was last year's grand final. We got such a groundswell of support due to who we are and also the fact we were playing the Roosters and we've just ridden it into 2020.

Rebuild? He already completed that by 2016 - just have a look at the squad turnaround in the two years preceding. From there on in it's been revision and tweaking, as he's got us in a stable holding pattern. Yeah, this was my initial thought when reading this thread too, the rebuild was over in 201...

Honestly, I think it makes hardly any difference who we play in Week 2. Either the roosters or panthers we're going to be up against it, it's going to be tough, and we're going to have to play well to win.

But let's beat the Sharks first, shall we?
