You sad sack of emo grunts. This forum used to be full of fans. We won. Celebrate. Who cares who we beat or how it was played. If you still disect and whinge and pick on players then either follow another team or get a job with the club. Absolute killjoys. It's a game. It's sport. It's a release. I...

Re: 2022 Rd 9 V Bulldogs: Game Day
To be fair, the way I read that article (where most of the lines are just straight from his presser) is that the "lot of whacks" is with regards to lack of consistency in the spine for the last 18months. Having said that, I agree he's not getting whacked in the press, at all. So when he's ...

Good lord I hope the players are not reading this forum. At various points in time pretty much all players have been trashed (in some cases either because of OR inspite of their respective performances), along with the groundsman one particular time as well if memory servers me right. I think Peeps ...

Here is a different take for you. Firstly, we played ****, and well and truly deserved to lose. However we played with our 3rd string halfback, missing both 1st up wingers, which then led to other players out of position. Ricky has said before there are no "easy" games in NRL - and maybe t...

Re: Ryan Sutton signs three year deal with Bulldogs from 2023
we have nothing to gain by offloading him early. We don't get the money back - its dead $$. If he sits on the sidelines as contingency for injuries etc. all the better for us. That doesn't stop the young blood coming through - just gives us depth a season. If he never gets used, all good, still no d...

I don't know that the coach missing game day is that much of an impact. He'd still be connecting in via video conference, all the plans would be agreed etc. Only impact is a firey/inspirational half time speech?

Anyone know any details on when it happened? again, true-ish. Putting in Savage in FB over CNK is (at a macro level) favoring attacking over defending. As mentioned multiple times (and I agree), there were widespread problems all over the park with attack. I agree that if there continue to be widespread attacking problems across the park then ...

true - ish. We also did see what happens with a FB that couldn't defend - that same Caleb Aekins. overall he was a net loss- there is a reason why he isn't on our books anymore. ( I swear in some of those games it was almost like he was under instructions to let the ball bounce)

Its probably also worth considering that COVID will likely impact our ability to field players for a given match - above and beyond Rep duty or injury. So depth will be tested a lot more - so more peeps would get game time than normal. I think its actually likely Cotric will have a boom year. He'd b...

Actually his punishment is far worse than you think. Assuming he's guilty - that's the end of his career - and his lifestyle. He *did* have talent. He did win a GF and was being paid far more money a year then we would hope to earn AND if he played to his talent could have stayed on that $$ year in ...

At least he's not being referred to as "Raiders Player" or "Ex-Raiders Player". Suspect that is the end of his NRL career. Hope he gets some help and turns his life around.

Re: 2022
I dunno - think I am more with Botman on this one. I do agree that the Salary cap stops clubs going broke. I would even postulate that it helps level say 75% of the playing field stay level. However the other 25% (i.e. the cream of the crop players in each club) being far more impacted by available ...

maybe. I always though Dolphins were a good fit for him. Last year in Canberra, Dolphins is a fresh start - he can be a foundation player, maybe captain, certainly a leader. Potentially squeeze 2 years out of them.
Thats 3 full years then at max $$

Re: Jamal Fogarty joins Canberra Raiders on three year deal
agreed - last year I saw him drift to the right once or twice to add to the attack on that side. The couple of times he did it you could see the opposition were not ready for him - and all I could think was "gee, why doesn't he do that more often...."

Re: 2022 Canberra Raiders draw
The issue is the draw is not constructed in a fair fashion. As the article from Rothfield above points out, it can't be completely fair unless all the teams play every other team once - or twice - home and away. But the problem is that the NRL deliberately aims to ensure that Sydney clubs are the o...

Re: 2022 Canberra Raiders draw
A "bad schedule" vs a "good schedule" is always an interesting argument. Is the intent to Win the GF - or is the goal to just make it into the Finals, regardless of how we got there? If you have a weaker draw (i.e. play bottom teams more than the top teams) - then its possibly ea...

Re: Canberra Raiders sign Adam Elliott on one year deal
Its just a cheap depth signing with a footballer who has 1st grade experience. Nothing more, nothing less. If he plays out of his socks - great for us. If he is merely solid on the rare game he plays to cover injury, also good for us. Only really becomes an issue if we are cruelled by injury he beco...

Re: Predictions, the final ladder
Yeah I know the Knights look odd being up there, but the logic is that the other teams will go worse, and thus they will have more points. I really do think those teams who bought and sold a lot will really struggle for form. so in some cases its not a matter of one team being better more a case of ...
