We have two and a half years to make this happen with Federal Government support and $$. This is the first and possibly the last time the ACT will hold the balance of power in the Senate.

Manly did a very good job of taking Sezer out of the game yesterday. They obviously had a plan to rush up and shut down any ability for Sezer to run or shift the ball wide... after a while Hodgson just stopped going right which starved our edges of ball. I reckon Sticky will spend a lot of video tim...

'We're contenders and we're coming': Canberra Raiders sound wake-up call to NRL heavyweights "We're contenders and we're coming." That's the message from Canberra after the Raiders beat a top-four NRL side for the first time this season, toppling competition leaders Melbourne last week. &...

We have to beat the Storm and Manly for anyone to take us seriously this year. Do that and we've earned the right to be talked about as a contender.

And the 2019 Dally M stripper of the year is Josh Hodgson.. It will be a damn proud moment. Hey could get the skipper/stripper double.. It would be far more fitting if Munster won it and as he turned to leave the stage Hodgo jumped up and stripped it off him. Skipper/stripper/hooker treble.

I'm a little excited but my tortured supporters soul keeps it in check. I agree with some of the other posters - this year we're winning with across the board efforts and not relying too heavily on the individual brilliance of a couple of players (ie. Campo/Dugan 2010, Leipana/Hodgson 2016). There's...

Re: Are we premiership contenders?

The more I think about it, the more I think about us possibly being a contender, the more I believe that John Bateman is the key. Every team that wins the premiership has a culture that wills to win - the Storm being the best example. The Storm have been the anti-Raiders... if they get behind, even ...

Re: New recruits

CNK is a great reminder of the difference a natural fullback makes, particularly on kicks. He always seems to be in great position to field and return kick. His defensive positioning still needs a bit of work, but he's still learning our system, so I can forgive that.

I was impressed with Sutton. I watched him at the back end of the season at Wigan last year and wasn't impressed at all. I assume it was because he'd been injured and was a little out of shape. He looks fit and very solid, particularly defensively.

You need a few of those games to get into the finals. We had a lot go against us despite being largely the dominate team. As others have said CNK and Bateman have been fantastic. Wighton is still a work in progress... not convinced he's a 6. Thought Sammy was solid tonight. Once Cotric, Papa, Rapana...

I'm all for signing more quality English players. Most of these players grew up in smaller northern cities like Leeds, Hull, Bradford or Wigan - so a smaller city like Canberra looks like an attractive option. The Canberra winter doesn't scare them and the climate is generally a massive upgrade. Now...

I think you have to go with the ones that have performed in First Grade before (with the exception of Luke Bateman) and below is the team that I think we should run out with. Horsburgh, Hunt and Murchie will definitely get a run not too far into the season. Really torn about who plays at lock. I wou...

I do enjoy how when we keep asking the same questions, we come up with the same answer in spite of evidence to the contrary. Is Wighton a half at NRL level? Can you turn a half into a hooker overnight? Why can't we win close games?

I have a feeling we have a little more cap wriggle-room than people believe. Better than where we were this time last year. When your attack is the second best in the league but you finish 10th and a winger and your fullback have as many try assists as your two primary halves... buying a defensively sound half who can distribute the ball sounds like a good move to me.
